Here's an advice,
be more focus on the method that you are using currently, train hard to achieve the best performance you can get.

This is way more effective than learning new ways and new algorithms that you won't be having enough time to, not to say master, not even get familiar with them. This will actually affect your performance and drag you down even further.

Of course, this is for preparation for the competition that is like just one month away from now. You can always learn more after the competition and improve your time.
