I believe civic battery capavity is much larger than city thus the higher cost

Only during highspeed will use both petrol and battery for cruising iinm.

I say this is the realistic way for malaysia consumer to enjoy EV car feeling.

I don't know anything regarding that , but as I heard from a grab driver , he used to own a Prius as well , electronics always faulty , regardless of battery issue or not , they will charge you accordingly for battery. That's why he faster sell and buy 2nd hand Axia.

That price defeat the purpose of getting a hybrid car. Rather spend less on car spend more on petrol.

Actually how does the i-MMD work? Can both the Atkinson cycle petrol engine and the electric motor be active at the same time for combined output 300hp+, or only one at a time? My guess is it's the latter, since 0-100 is 7.9s (down from 8.5 from petrol turbo).

if we are to save environment and transition to less fuel, shouldn't these kind of cars be CHEAPER than standard ICE?

Better spend the extra to buy and burn more petrol than to carry batteries.

The engine lockup clutch only trigger during high speed at 1:1 ratio.

The rest of the time the engine is a generator, create electricity to power the motor and charge battery.
There's no gearbox. Similar system used in diesel locomotive and ships.
