anyway.... is there anything I can made Ken to know which is important and which not? he seems a bit dumb here... -.-" likes to POO n PEE on HIS FOOD!!! and I need to check on him everytime to make sure he doesn't eat that back.. n I really think I'm gonna buy small bowl for his food... the build in food bowl is way too big n wide... maybe that's the reason cuz he can fit inside the bowl lol

@demonicbeing : I thought lighting is not good for hedgie... they dun like being put under lighting... they only active when it's dark, Ken is always sleep when I open my room light, so I cover my light bulb so it wont be too light for him and also I cover the cage with towel... resulting sometimes he play his wheel n tissue roll in the afternoon... not like last time always sleep in day time n plays when it's late nite lol

Are you sure the fleas he has can be treated by frontline? not sure about fleas but frontline only works for some types of mites

Why do they run and poo at the same time??? Everytime I let spikey out in my room, he's start to make marks on my rooms... And he thinks it's funny seeing my cleaning up the mess...

Didn't manage to get spikey a metal wheel yet... Went to IKANO pet safari but they don't have... So Haven't have the routine yet for washing wheel every morning... Got any suggestion where to get one???

You sure you cleared up the mites from before? Theres a few types of mites not all types can be cured by frontline

Some do, some don't. Some mites are specie specific, means they only stay on hosts of the same species, but like mange mites, some are not and hedgehogs can contract mange fairly easily when exposed to an infected individual. Mange mites can infest any animal, including us.

Bald spot is not the only symptom of mites ......no bald spots does not mean no mites.
Dry flakes at the base of the quills (like dandruff) is one of the symptoms. Also does he scratch quite often?

Like Reanne said it could be dry skin or it could be mites
However rather than experiment with cures for dry skin its better to take him to the vet and find out once and for all if its mites or not, Dont wait till the poor thing starts balding 
You dont need a vet thats pro at hedgehogs to treat mites, any vet can treat it.
Just remember to let him know to apply one drop of kitten dose Revoloution behind each ear and NEVER inject with Invermectin

Btw if it is mites you need to do more than just treat the hedgehog, you also need to wash and disinfect the cage and everything in it, and make sure the unused bedding thats still in the packet is also mite free.

If its dry skin try oatmeal baths, and also avoid overbathing

What shes trying to tell you is that there is no more common or less common type. Maybe it will affect you and your other pets and maybe it wont.
She never said that the type that wont affect you and your other pets is more common or normal

lol. Actually, an inexperienced vet will probably not know how to take a skin scraping either, being that the hedgie will probably roll up. They usually have to take the scraping from the face, since the flakiness is the most obvious there. But that requires lots of patience and precision, won't want hurt the hedgie while it tries to roll.

If it were me, I would house bathe them in oatmeal shampoo and house on non-wood shavings like BC and see if the flakiness goes away or not for a few days. If not, then I would look for the drops and apply myself. If the drops don't work, then should bring to the vet to check what it is.

The most common problem with flaky hedgies are mites and bedding. Once you rule these possible causes out and the problem persists, then bringing to the vet is a must to find out what it is.
