I'm using Umobile Prepaid (Power Prepaid Plan). I already subscribed UMI36 Data, and from the Umobile Apps, it shows I still have 1.74GB left. All the while, I can use it for hotspot.

As I need to download large files, I add-on 10GB (Data Booster 5). Immediately, I can't use the phone for hotspot. I understand that Data Booster 5 is for use in phone only. But my earlier 1.74GB left from UMI36, also blocked from using hotspot.

When I plug in Hotlink prepaid, can use data hotspot no problem. So it is not my phone problem. It is just Umobile data hotspot restriction (so confusing they made it.)

Umobile even put "3GB Hospot Data For RM3 / 3 Days" in MyUMobile app, but I totally cannot click in to subscribe.

What's wrong with the Umobile????

You should had opted for GX30 Unlimited instead - For the (older) Unlimited Funz Pack users

At least it comes with a mere 3-6GB Hotspot but tons of non-hotspot data for you to download.

I understand what you have written and I also read their FAQ. No problem for me to subscribe the data booster 5 as I want to download large file to my smartphone.

But the problem is, in my case, I still have an active UMI36 Data which still have 1.74GB. UMI36 originally can use for hotspot, which sometimes I will use my laptop to connect to its hotspot to access some documents. Now after I subscribe to "data booster 5", the original UMI36 also can't use for hotspot. In summary, the whole sim card now cannot use for hotspot. That's it I can say.

Hotspot Data + Non-Hotspot Data = Totally Non-Hotspot Data

That's weird - non unlimited cannot use hotspot.
Like that better use Proxy app on your phone🤫
