if you owned both types of speaker, can share which one is better as a music speaker?

I don't owned both of them, but I heard from it. Both have it's own sound signature. I think the Aego M are more suited for music

btw..which genre are u listening?? mx5021 is more towards to bass type..(hip hop..feng tau..)

aego all the way! It might lack bass IMO but its best suited for music

You have just turn the MX5021 into a lala speaker. (you know.. the feng tau thingy )
I'm using MX5021 + PSC805, works well on both the musics and movies, as well as gamings.
Btw, which genre of musics you're more into?
Aego M works perfectly in instruments.

Aego M i think...

Well, my girlfriend own MX5021 and me got this Aego 2, frankly speaking the MX5021 sounds abit edgy and less refined, the bass is abit boomy to my taste, highs not quite extend as Aego 2, depth no as good thus less 3D as Aego M

Verdict: MX5021 is quite handy in games, movie but speaking of Music, Aego wins both hands down

Both are good speakers, just depend on what you needs and requirement.

I don't think MX5021 will lose the Aego M when on PSC805.
I've tested both MX5021 and Aego M on a PSC805, with same settings of foobar2000.
The MX5021 not as boomy as you describe(hope I don't imagine the describing thingy wrongly).
The bass is pretty much tighten up, and the highs are pretty rounded up, with a little bit decrease on the treble knob.
I can't deny that the Aego M sounds almost perfect in musics, but I also strongly support that MX5021 does works well in musics too.

are there any pc good hi-fi speakers which can produce warm sound ?

coz so far i hear at those speaker like AE, i found up that their sound are so so bright.I vv agree that AE is vv crispy clear and nice bass but sometimes my ear can't stand for more than half an hour on the vv bright sound...if i paired somemore with another bright sound card, then i more gg already...

Maybe my gf's unit not properly burn in yet, only around 150hours used I was using my psc805 as well when testing it, although PSC805 sounds warm but when i pairing with MX5021, it's still sounds abit metallic, maybe more burn in needed Anyway for those MX5021 kaki, last time i heard that got one fellow forumer pay quite some effort on modding his MX5021, well maybe when I got time, curi-curi go open and mod my GF's unit

Mcrae: AE is crisps and clear, it may sounds fatigue listening to but you may try to tweak it with warm sounding cable, it's easy to plug and play somemore priced quite reasonable I mean those DIY one if the AE you mentioned is AegoM, then you should really try a change of cable, the stock cable maybe somekind of tin plated, it's sound harsh, try something like canare or cardas, i guess it would tame down the highs and gives you a better depth due to warmer sound

Why you more gg?
You can try a lower budget sound card like the Prodigy 7.1LT.
IMO, the 7.1LT will warm everything up.
But in the same time, it will make the bass become thinner.
Just imagine Aego M's bass already quite thing, what happen if its become thinner?

150 hours only hor, I thought very long already.
Try put more time, my around 1 and a half year already.
Just blast all the way only, the highs will round up as the time goes by.

upgrade ur sources and cable to utilize the potential og AE M
my setup, bass are not thin at all, and coolerthing setup, the bass will give u the shaking floor feeling ANYTIME

no doubt MX5021 is a good speaker for multimedia usage, movie, gaming and still acceptable for music quality...
and AE M is only specialise in music....

specialization make thing better, but scarified parts exists

No Aego M does not have a headphone jack, it is an AUX-In jack instead.

i use it for all my computer entertainment

n my Aego M not lacking of bass thx to PcWorks cable

I believe the bass came from your Aurilium more than the cables.

they did try comparison with different cable
tat y i sum up with tat statement of PcWorks cable bring out some nice bass from aego M
n wat we did is music comparison, using foobar 2000 with Direct sound

yeah, aurilium still not bad after all, but with the stock cable, aego M just wont shine

Yup I understand that.
But compare to the cable, the bass more came from the Aurilium, while cable from PcWork(I believe is L-4E6S) rounded up, or I would like to use the word beautify everything up, which make it almost perfect for musics.

the bass is a huge improvement tat shock us
n is shaking floor tight bass...
so i duno is aurilium or the cable tat do the major improvement....

sorry dude, wrong guess for it, the cable is pcwork self-DIY corda cable, which twist more than 10 cable in in one plug(one left consider one)...

and i do use me L-4E6S+Zhaolu D2C, and the bass is still far from the super-diy cable.

so the conclusion is, the cable make the different, i do tried psc805 with normal cable before, the bass not even near to my zhaolu D2C..

but their manufacturer cable is still better than those multimedia cable such as logitech n altec lansing stock cables

I don't think my Altec stock cable is good, it is very thin. I had read some Altec user opinion in this forum, they replaced stock cable with other multimedia cable. Got improvement but just a little bit.

L-4E6S is just normal imho. =)
the bass won't be as warm. and the detail is far more below my expectation from what i heard from AEGO M imho.
i had heard almost 100% performance AEGO M (i think) with Cardas gold reference cable, and Hofi CDP.
the CDP + Cable cost more than RM 6K. and it really really make me shock with the performance even though i has my AEGO M for more than 6 months that time, and i even have some bookshelve / floorstander that time.
the improvement is just very nice
anyway. i had been tried and try to bring back the sound of the aego m i ever heard. that's why i come out with my own DIY cable special for AEGO M. =)

this braid cable really make me crazy, and the gathering tat day, we found that how big the difference is while charging cable.....1st one is pcdude braid cable, and the second one is the ven de hul paring with elac and NAD floor stand....

is a sound driver for philips PSC 805 aurilium sound card
i always use direct sound for music, mean pass by the driver direct use their DAC to listen
but for movie n games i use their driver instead

sound agent 2 software from the aurilium

I suggest you go ahead and try MX5021.

If you feel that its ... :-

1. not loud enough, then forget AegoM.
2. not enough bass, forget AegoM

The only thing that AegoM fail to live up to is the bass department (does not sound nice when volume past 50%). If you can live with that, then you should be okay with it. It will still fill up a small room (just enough room for a wardrobe, computer table and a bed), then the bass is still acceptable, so do the loudness. But any bigger, the sound that fill the room wont sound as good as you are sitting in front of it and the bass feel tiny.

since you guys said if gaming+movie then MX5021, if music then Aego M, if i'm into Movie + Music only ler, which one to choose then? maybe this weekend i head down to Lowyat to have a look ok mx5021

Yup Thunder Match were pretty bad, at least its quiet. When I listen to it, I go and I quickly go out, sounds terrible.
