I have a chinese male friend who have a casual friend-for-benefit relationship with a malay girl. Isn't it illegal for chinese people to do it, wouldn't they be sent to

prison if they were ever caught or JAKIM will force them to marry the malay girl or something?
I'm seeing a lot of chinese-malay relationships as well in public, like holding hands and stuff, am I too old because I once thought that was haram/illegal in the past?
