I have a chinese male friend who have a casual friend-for-benefit relationship with a malay girl. Isn't it illegal for chinese people to do it, wouldn't they be sent to

prison if they were ever caught or JAKIM will force them to marry the malay girl or something?


I'm seeing a lot of chinese-malay relationships as well in public, like holding hands and stuff, am I too old because I once thought that was haram/illegal in the past?

Not illegal to have sexual relationship with a Muslim, if you're a non-Muslim.

JAKIM has no authority over non. Look at yesterday's RexKL Halloween Shagrilla event where LGBT people were going to. Only Malays were targeted by JAKIM.

From legality point of view, Jakim has no jurisdiction over non perhaps maybe only when non smear the religion.

Have friends who is Chinese guy and Malay girl. Both renounced their citizenship after getting overseas passport. Happily married with no external forces in place. Strange, they are more free yet they have no divorce issues

No such thing lah. For the non Muslim person there is nothing legal can be done to you, just maybe embarrassing if caught together and if under 21 parent may be called in.

You can walk away at that point, but of course love and guilt are powerful drivers and that's why you see some people "force" converted
