The Xiaomi P1 55" is only RM1680 now, Malaysia 2 years warranty. I think that is the most bang for bucks at the moment. You also don't need your Chromecast as it ha built-in. Any cheap Android TV offered by bigger names like Panasonic, Phillips, etc are actually just OEM from company like TCL and Skyworth. A friend is working with Sony and previously Panasonic.

I found Panasonic tv is more reliable than Samsung.
Samsung can kaput if you don't use the tv frequently.

P1 is 4k uhd with Dolby vision. Not many TV under RM2k would offer that.

A smart alternative is to get a wanbo t2 max projector instead of TV. That way can enjoy 100inch movie entertainment at 1/3rd the price and top up with a redmi 30w soundbar for rm100+ . Wanbo is yet another Xiaomi subsidiary. Practically cinema experience.

The low end and mid range are OEM made in China. The higher end ones are made and designed by themselves but will probably not be anytime soon. They are just not shipping enough units compared to company like Sony.
