Actually what you asking is not dumb TV but non lagdroid TV, We just do not want lagdroid in our phone, TV and our life.

Can get 58" UHD HDR no lagdroid LED Smart TV for <2K if use voucher from saupeh.

Hisense Smart TV is without android, but VIDAA OS that come with digital TV tuner, Youtube, Netflix etc

I think almost all TV larger than 50 inches comes with a sort of smart function built in.

There could be a few models without it, but not much in the price different.

Anything that's not top sales in shopee or Lazada.

2k is shit display price range.
3k Samsung color will be better than shit Xiaomi. But still not good enough. Mine here with the nu8000. Not really happy, should've topup kek
5k is the sweetest spot. Lg oled.

If you just want a cheap 55" UHD TV, normally Philips, LG, China brand like Hisense/Xiaomi etc will cost below RM2K.

Old TV without Android TV OS? Very difficult to find nowadays unless display set.

The Xiaomi P1 55" is only RM1680 now, Malaysia 2 years warranty. I think that is the most bang for bucks at the moment. You also don't need your Chromecast as it ha built-in. Any cheap Android TV offered by bigger names like Panasonic, Phillips, etc are actually just OEM from company like TCL and Skyworth. A friend is working with Sony and previously Panasonic.

I found Panasonic tv is more reliable than Samsung.
Samsung can kaput if you don't use the tv frequently.

P1 is 4k uhd with Dolby vision. Not many TV under RM2k would offer that.

https://www.mi.com/global/product/mi-tv-p1-55/

A smart alternative is to get a wanbo t2 max projector instead of TV. That way can enjoy 100inch movie entertainment at 1/3rd the price and top up with a redmi 30w soundbar for rm100+ . Wanbo is yet another Xiaomi subsidiary. Practically cinema experience.

The low end and mid range are OEM made in China. The higher end ones are made and designed by themselves but will probably not be anytime soon. They are just not shipping enough units compared to company like Sony.

You can try find LG nano series 43 within 2.5k quality better than UHD series and you do need live with their smart os like it or not

I do have optional 32 inch PC monitor wall mounted besides my PC with google Chromecast TV if bed room TV occupied by wife...
