Normal depends who u ask

If u ask poor people 200k is like waaaaaaah

U ask rich person they like meh

It’s all about perspective and what is important is that make u feel good or not

To me I don’t have that much but I have 800k in epf

But knowing I have to live for another 24 years in this world which I may not even survive due to risk gives me sense of fragility

Very good for a 30 year old. But preserving it and growing it is the next step.

Stocks, real estate...crypto....medium-long term.

Let say you start work at age of 24, 100k/72mths is about 1.4k saving per month.

Not sure what's your job and salary, for average it is normal.

if 1.4k is like 10-20% of your salary, I think you better save more if not much commitment.

As for investment, not expert. I do research and learn from internet and others, so invest on your own risk.

depend what u gonna do with it??? 200k its just a number in the bank , the most important its the generate passive income

i rather have passive income of 10k per month than to have 200k in bank while u still need to work

consider OK if you didnt make any purchase

usually u will start to pay for house DP ; car DP or divert the money to elsewhere

for my case

before 30
money spent to
car DP, house DP, another car with cash

I had 200k at 30. I feel terrible coz all come from ESOS and not from my savings. Terrible saver actually.

Then I placed like all of it buying and renovating my house in the next year.

If you saved 200k from normal savings, you are doing fine. Another 10 years, u can save more than that due to higher wages.

Dividend so good one? Wth ... If I'd known....got so much meh, like that if I convert all my foreign currency and put in 2 +million Maybank shares, dividend get 270 per day I can just do something I love and not be worried about daily expenses? Sounds legit. Everyday Cheong rm200 then rm70 for meals. But the only issues is garment making it hard for pharmacist from foreign country to come back. Bodo.

Yes it is.

But this strategy only set back is if you withdraw all dividend, the yield will not readjust according to inflation.

of course everything is possible..mark zuckerberg 23 years old alrdy billionaire
but my tactic is just work without investment . just plain saving from income. dont tell me work locally in petronas then each month put in crpto then become millionaire etc. or own a buisness selling sambal earning millions

dont withdraw all dividend lo... just use whatever u need and the extra leave it in, plus the principal u invested will always go up if the price of theshare goes up.

Even if you don't withdraw at all, the dividend yield is not good enough to keep up with inflation.

I'm 30 years already, don't even have 100k.

But if papa mama gives additional 100k..

Then could be almost 150k.

You are lucky.

About the MYR dropping, there's no solution unless you can take risk. If don't want risk, put into FD or Amanah Saham.

i got 40k in money market, probably around 22k in precious metal investments, 5k in PRS, other investments that I currently not know and manage such as durian plantation investments, unit trust plus inheritance from my dead aunt that my father help manage probably 100k or more. 26 this year. Hmm, i average around 1.5k monthly as return from some of the investments.

Honestly, is ok for M40 I guess. My parents arent working, I am pretty much the only person in my family working 9-6. My salary really normal, M40 only. Not really a lot if want to save for house and wedding, I driving Myvi only

*
Then, 800k who will inherit?
Bro, I'm willing to take this up, priest put my name

I've done it before. tbh, not so much.

used more than half just for house renovation.

but in any case, it's always good to start early. and of course, what is more, important is that you have that momentum, that attitude to achieve your saving goals!

keep it up brah! (my kids are using these words a bit too frequent from their ROBLOX trends)
