Hey guys, I’m using a iPhone 13 Pro now. Been thinking to upgrade to 15 pro but am still holding off. If I ever purchase a 15 pro, i would trade in my phone directly.

Am thinking out loud, but what do you all think in the FINANCIAL PERSPECTIVE, the best time to change a phone? Is it hold it for as long as it can function or trade in every 2-3 years. From what I can see, trading it off 2-3 years loses more money than holding it for as long as it functions - give or take 4 years.

What do you think?

you should include the future cost of ownership for new phone

the most straightforward way is just to estimate the future phone price only 

otherwise it will not be a fair comparison with the other scenario

but you cant estimate the value of happiness   

anyway I remember miyako back then hentam iPhone 15 Pro model during launch because of the heat issue etc 

i also changed from 13 Pro to 15 Pro (motivated by Tokyo Trip)

managed to sell off my 13 Pro at RM3K .. so I just top up "a little" for 15 Pro

Sales suck. And also I believe their margin increases a lot compared to iPhone 14 that's why they can throw price. Just compare the retail price of iPhone 14 vs iPhone 15. Same in USD, increased in MYR.

Honestly, how many are willing to spend RM6-8k for a phone. Not many.

asian ppl is far more careful than westerners in taking care items
