Clear case certainly will have two main problems rite?

1) yellowing after some time
2) fingerprint magnet

So if really want to show off the colour. This is something that is unavoidable? No matter what brand of the case?
*
Ghost case, if turned yellow, then claim a new one every time biggrin.gif

I check the link, there is no clear case without magsafe right?
*
Yep that's correct.

Need to pay shipping or not when claim new one? tongue.gif

Let me ask Andrew's sifu tongue.gif

QUOTE(andrewtho @ Sep 22 2023, 05:56 PM)
just drop them an email and they will sort it out.

Dbrand is one of the most customer centric company around. been a loyal customer for many years and there’s a couple of time where i messed up the skin, requested for a replacement and they shipped it to me.
i hate to break it to you but.. Apple’s silicone case sucks too. the price you pay for the quality is just lacklustre in every way - it started peeling after a few month in. i had both the Silicone and Leather case and the latter held up better.
*
Andrew sifu, does dbrand charges shipping fee when we claim warranty?

I am thinking to ship the product to someone in US then ask that fella to bring back, save some shipping fees biggrin.gif

Guys, those cables with auto cut electric current (like McDodo cable) really works right? As normally i will leave my phone charged until the next morning😅 thinking to get one….

Or the phone already smart enough to optimize charging based on my behaviour so it’s not necessary?
*
iPhone 15 got the feature to cut off the charging at 80%, my S23U always cut off at 85% charging. Bare in mind, you can turn on or off this feature, without this feature turned on, it will charge till 100% then only cut off

Conclusion, no need those cables with auto cut electric current.

Thanks for your input. Another question, better select optimized charging or max 80% for a better battery health and miantenance? I see there are 2 options in my iphone 15P.
*
I thought can enabled both? Both serves differently to protect your battery.

Optimized charging is you can fast charge your battery to 80% then normally iPhone will hold the charging at 80% as it studied your usage pattern, then predict when you will use the phone actively again then just timed the continous charging to 100% just before you will use your phone.

Meanwhile the max 80% just mean it stopped at 80% which result a better lifespan for your phone.

Oh what a waste… if there is one without magsafe, i will consider buying one.
*
You don't like to have a ring behind your case? biggrin.gif I think this additional ring magnet is for those who want to use additional magsafe wallet etc, as it enhances the magnetic effects, making it hold on more tightly.

And this leather casing with the wallet from Bellroy looks so stunning, so tempted to buy it hahaha.

No, can only choose one, can’t choose both…

Yeah, I don’t use Magsafe and if i use a transparent case, the wallet will look awkward with the transparent case, no?
*
Erm I will let the other sifu answer your question, because at this point I also don't know

Regarding to the wallet thingy, it depends also. But for my use case, when I needed to use an additional phone stand, then I will stick it on my casing, then remove it when not in use. Same with the wallet, sometimes lazy to bring wallet out then I will just do it.

I like to have option when I needed it. smile.gif

Now seems like Apple has set a new bar of 5 years of iOS support for devices from iPhone X onwards unlike last time exceptional case such as iPhone 6s can even get a crazily long of iOS support for 7 years.

5 years of iOS support is still decent enough for a phone comparing to Android which is a good time for anyone to change phone anyway.

Whether worth it to spend rm400 to change battery for 5 years old device now such as iPhone X and older will then depends whether one still use the old devices. But to be fair they are still decent as a backup device or spare device.

I am still using my iPhone 6 Plus (with battery change two years ago at Apple Store Orchard) before it was moved to vintage device as my spare phone to put a secondary school just to receive OTP or WhatsApp or calls and nothing else. Still decent for normal usage such as waze also sometimes given its bigger display to put in car for navigation despite that I have iPhone 14 pro max as main phone.
*
That's a bad move, they shall continue to practice what they had done previously, which allow up to 7 years of iOS support. This is due to Android is catching up with the promised of 4 years major OS updates and 5 years of security updates, which is you see, the longevity of 5 years major OS updates doesn't seem to be that attractive anymore.

The 15 pro battery state is just a dealbreaker..

Add 1k or rm500 (for 256gb) and u get a 15 pro max with bigger screen, battery and extra telephoto cam.

Can we switch unit from switch? Of course with a longer pickup date. I ordered 2. One PM for self and Pro for wife. But the battery..adeh.

What's wrong with the iPhone 15 pro's battery, too many posts, i missed a lot.

Maxis is notorious for not updating the status on their website so I wouldn’t depend on that too much, hahaha…
I’d like to think it was Apple that compelled those Android users to follow suit, hahaha. For now I think only Samsung consistently delivers the updates - the Chinese brands are very slow at it, especially when they are producing one or two new models every month laugh.gif
Oh really? I didn’t know that! Will visit Switch/Urban Republic soon… can offset my CIMB credit card points for a nice, expensive case biggrin.gif

hahaha i agree.

Nice! Usually for expensive cases my go-to is UAG, haha.. I get that it’s a bit bulky and utilitarian but I love it! Gonna go look for this: -

Just take la bro, Thursday is a public holiday. At the very least you get a long weekend!
*
I dunno why my UAG case will failed within 1 year+ like the casing will somehow broken apart, that's why I stopped using UAG

Yep, it's not a rare case, I had multiple UAG cases, all exhibits the same symptoms after 1 year+ of usage, so I see the problem is pretty consistent across UAG regardless of models, because I even used the higher end Monarch model, also same LOL. So I am exploring new casing like Dbrand ghost case

I concur, so I think buying these subsidized phone only makes sense if
a) your bill is in part subsidized by the company you work for
b) your monthly usage really equates to that much data
c) you... just have money? hahaha... kidding.
Right? I'm surprised they don't offer an outright contract price purchase like maxis does this year. New management, maybe.
Same here, but I am chilled about it.. I remember my 13 Pro Max - no news or status update till the eve - and even after delivery the status still not updated on the website, hahaha...
Oh wow, really? I still have a UAG Plasma case from my 13 Pro Max which I kept for memory sake, hahaha... Anyways, my wife loves the Pathfinder series which is why I'm gonna get that case for the 15 Pro Max... the phone will eventually be hers!
U Mobile is the best value for money if their coverage is decent where you work, live or play smile.gif I had a brief experience with them some many years ago and it was not great, but perhaps it's improved now.
*
Yea, at least from my personal experience and the case's issue is similar regardless if I got it from official Machines outlet or some third party in LYN.

QUOTE(attw @ Sep 26 2023, 04:25 PM)
Plans still slightly different but phone prices are the same... and no outright contract purchase. And yes, I'm surprised too, hahaha.. but maybe if you calculate the cost per GB, maxis is still more expensive? I dunno... I am using their home fibre so my data quota is unlimited...
I'm tempted to get a S23U just to see how efficient the SD8 Gen 2 is actually, hahaha... i think it went as low as 4.2k during 9.9 sale or something? I tried the S22U and wasn't impressed.
*
Haha, can try, the chip efficiency is good for this gen. Now we not sure about next gen whether 8 gen 3 will be from TSMC or not
