Hi sifus, searching for a 2nd hand kawasaki ninja 250 as I saw a lot of people recommended it
Any tips that I can scout for a good 2nd hand bike? very new in riding (tried kapchai before) rclxub.gif, probably less than 10 hours of riding in my entire life
or is there any recommendations (other bike or dropping to 125cc)

Browse through facebook marketplace and saw this 2015 ninja selling for 9.7k, was wondering if it's worth it

No seriously, that's pretty much the best 250 you can buy used.

Cheap, easy to find spare parts, reliable as shit

Try your luck to buy direct from existing owner. My friend bought 2012 Ninja 250SE for less than RM5,000. I tested it, I think for the price it is a good buy.

If you can, get at least a 600cc and above bike.

I've got a 250cc Naza Blade which i bought years ago and i still love it today despite its tiny cc. Love the looks of it and enjoy the open road and wind. However, i always regretted not getting the larger cc though . I do have a Full B license but didnt get larger cc which is kinda a waste in a way.

Anyway, very seldom have time to ride it.... still in very mint condition with just one tiny scratch on it and low mileage of just 7,000 km.

I may consider getting another though.

But as per TS, i would suggest either Ninja or R25.

Also in a market for a 250cc for daily ride to work. To and fro is about 120km. Tempted to get the Svartpilen 250 just for the design and KTM engine profile but for the price I could get an MT07.

Am also open to a maxi scooter and Elegan 250 ABS caught my eyes as it is cheap and reliable for a maxi.

Also consider getting a CRF Rally or a used KLX250 and convert it into a supermoto. That or buy an already converted supermoto direct from owner.

Most important thing is the bike is comfortable for an hour highway ride from home to work.

Thanks.

If this is going to be a 120km daily commute, maybe get a bike with more weather and wind protection. Something with a fairing and bigger windshield.

Kawasaki has the dtracker, the KLX suoermoto. I've seen some used ones and some new old stock still available...it's not the most comfortable seat for a 120km daily commute though.

Am currently commuting with Versys 650. But would prefer smaller bike for daily use and commuting. Versys is for weekend long ride.

The crf rally and klx have very weak top speed.
Not nice to ride on the highway with that much distance.

I'd take a look at something with fairing and windshield.
Maybe the ktm 250 adventure? Or the 390 adventure with a bit higher top end?

But seriously I think the best bet for you is a maxi scooter. Adv350 should be introduced next year but knowing Honda I'll bet they'll ask nearly 30k for it

Thanks for the suggestion. Elegan 250 ABS is a really an ideal proposition right now.

You are not wrong.

Many big bike owners I know also own a 250maxi for commuting duties.

Or the versys x 250. With fairing, windshield, robust parallel twin, review say also good handling.
Now about 17k on the used market?

Which makes it at the same price as the 2nd Honda cb500x which is also a good commuter bike.

to be frank, want a full sized bike but keep limit under 250cc is really

get a proper bike, enough power and perhaps more reliable since it is less stressed than trying to go with a 250cc

see two replies above, a 250cc vs 470cc options, really the CB500X is the no brainer
