 Need help - TNB Meter being tampered

Sifu sifu, need some help here.TNB just came and suspected us tempering the TNB meter for curi eletrick but the unit has been rented out for a decade or so. So not sure if the meter has been tempered by the previous tenant before or not. but probably TNB is looking for $$$ and saman. Can any sifus shed some light or experience in handling such a predicament? They haven't summoned me for a talk yet.

Bayar je lah... cannot argue...

We paid RM12k for "meter tempering" and can't even get discount at all... can't argue also...

Tampered meter cannot be disputed. Even go to Court also you lose. Just pay and settle, no two way 😞

i think TS want to ask IF tenant tempered with the meter how to get them to be accountable for it.

kawan aku baru kene kat umah sewe dier. TNB cakap bayar start dari die duduk until now. yang balance tu biar owner bayar. kesiannn. so dier deal ngan owner tak tau macam mana. saman tu pun TNB tak bagitau berapa. maybe dier post to owner terus kot.

Too bad lah, nothing you can do. Best is negotiate a discount or installment plan.

Old retired lady with OKU kid, tenant was bitcoin mining and ran up an 80K bill then ran away because TNB told him first. Now the old lady going through court case with a lawyer friend of mine who handling the case for free, but he say no chance lah have to hope TNB come to some agreement ... because found out while filing suit against the tenant that he actually declared bankrupt, so even if win judgement against him can't get him to pay so TNB will come find the owner.

next time rent out must ask the tenant apply themself for the electric.

Kalau tak silap....even the tenant applies their own, and later depa dah cabut; tak bayar, then you as a owner wont be able to have new electricity until the previous bill settled! doh.gif

Commercial, Industrial or Residential?

Anyway, a lot of scammer since you mentioned that you are not required to discuss with them yet especially the inspection is out of thin air. Just be extra careful.

.. ok.. once they found that you tempered the meter, they will first change a new meter for you... after that they will start to check ur usage for few months, then they will use that as a baseline and check since when the usage drop from previously statement it might go all the way back to 1 or 2 years. then will use that as a starting point and calculate the difference with the baseline and charge you accordingly. so try to control ur electrical usage for now till you get your penalty statement.
