Hi all,
I would like to explore the possibility to set up my electric gate as a "Garage Door" with the Home app on my iOS device. I have purchased a Xiaoyan Switch Module 2 Gang and the electric gate has been installed. Details as per attached. Can anyone guide me how do I go about wiring it up and configuring it? Thanks.

FOR DC MOTOR only option is 1 relay control - open and close same button - (I set button to device mode momentary.)

Hey OP, I’ve got a 2 channel works with ewelink module installed. Previously only able to use it via ewelink app and voice (Siri or Google assistant). However, i wanted also to use it within Apple Homekit. I realised that i have many other smart home devices that i wanted to unify under Homekit. So i got myself a raspberry Pi, and installed Homebridge. Then i added the ewelink plugin to get autogate into Homekit. I wasnt satisfied yet, because athough i could use the autogate in homekit, it wasnt showing as a garage door. So i installed the garage door plugin and linked it to the ewelink switch. Tada. Now when i drive home, on my carplay screen, i can tap the garage door, and my gate opens. TLDR : Get Raspberry Pi, Install Homebridge, install plugins, and switch becomes garage door in Homekit. vincent_ng86 liked this post

Your DC moto can trigger via an inching switch right? Since you using Terncy, the switches can have inching feature too? Would that work?
I’m about to build my smart home too and I have Terncy system bought previously to play around. But gonna shift to Aqara due to being more budget friendly. |

i have the same pcb, but my t2 did not work. even i connect to the battery L and N , the t2 did not have response and light up… any idea?

Looks like you do not have the back up battery. Doesn't matter ? My gate's current status the gate sometimes swing, sometimes not, especially after heavy rain. I buka and found that the back up battery 12V 7.2AH due to corrosion on the battery terminal, I disconnected it . I naively connect the positive and negative directly to bypass the backup battery function, but it doesn't move at all. on the Board itself, the LED light on the PCB itself is blinking at every 4 seconds, the LED light also response to pressing of the the remote control, but the gate and the motor is silent doesn't move at all, I have ordered a back up battery to try. Will update later. |

Setting up your electric gate with HomeKit using the Xiaoyan module should be doable with some careful wiring and configuration. You’ll need to connect the module to your gate’s motor control board. Check if the board has terminals for “open” and “close” or similar. Connect these to the output of the Xiaoyan module, ensuring you match the correct relay channels for each function. Once wired, pair the module with your HomeKit setup via the Home app, and configure it as a “Garage Door.”
I had a similar setup, and while it worked well, I ran into some wiring challenges. When I got stuck, I reached out to United Garage Door Repairs for advice. I tried setting up my own gate automation before, and honestly, wiring can get confusing fast, especially when rain causes weird gate behavior. For me, a lot of problems started when the backup battery died, connections corrode super quick and then the motor just wouldn’t respond at all, even though the PCB lights were blinking as usual. Replacing the battery fixed most issues, but direct wiring attempts like yours never really worked for me, probably because those boards don’t like running without a good battery buffer. Now I’m looking at upgrading the whole setup, including considering a bifold garage door since it’s more practical for tight driveways. There’s actually some useful info online about this type of upgrade if you want to make your access smarter and a bit more reliable.
