QUOTE(vexus @ Jul 19 2023, 10:07 PM)
forget about honda. Honda japan think moving their production from china to india will solve their problem. They follow USA = go to hell.
*
I see... that's a problem. Should come Thailand or Malaysia.

for me i think either rebel 500 or vul s 650 as currently within my budget this 2 seems like best option
*
I haven't test Rebel. Vulcan S is proven, also.
Depending on the weight and payload, might need prepare to change the rear shock.

Most of the models you listed are naked or street bikes, but still appreciate the recommendation tho. The new ninja 650 or cfmoto 650gt can be one of the alternatives but I really want a 4 cylinder sport bike haha
*
Which specific 4-cylinder sports bike you want? If new, very few can compare the versatility of the CBR650R.
If what you really want is a supersports, like a CBR600RR, totally different story IMHO. Don't settle for the CBR650R.

Why ah? I actually like the CBR650R. Less committed like the supersports but more comfortable and with full fairing for better wind protection. I think it is one of those last sport tourers that emphasise on sporty looks (and where I can reach the ground) rather than the fake sport tourers these days that try to look like ADVs and are all too high for normal humans. It reminds me of my old FZ6R.
*
I mean, if you like the CBR650R then it's ok.

But, if someone really liked a CBR600RR but thinks the CBR650R is the same, then it's a mistake in the sense that they are very different in character.

Previous shortage due to AP issue... This is the new AP holder.. but seems like issue is persisting.. not sure why
*
haha, not anymore

just that the list is long, even with the AP's the bikes are not coming in as fast
if anybody holding their Honda's, next 2 years will be the opportunity to make a quick buck

I was told some models masuk, particularly I heard the CB500X, so yeah... this is verified by you, thanks
this model I minat, but... I guess, I have to settle for something else that is more readily available and budget friendly

XADV also start coming in, but the waiting list is in the range of hundreds

No need verified by me, just follow bw pj fb page, they upload photos of new bike deliveries. One of my friend received delivery of cb500x, and there's a photo of bwpj with one row of Cbr650r. But the Cb650r is nowhere to be seen. Luckily I didn't wait.

My friend who bought the cb500x was very interested in the xadv, until he test rode his friend's unit and said the bike is not nice to ride laugh.gif
*
I see... I tested CB500X, very good... XADV also very good, maybe your friend tak biasa scooter? Just the launch of XADV a bit juddering, and the engine revs very low. Riding long distance with the XADV is a superb pleasure

My friend also owns a xmax and vespa so he's pretty well versed with scooters I'd say. He also owns a Katana, Ducati scrambler and the cb500x is his latest addition to the fleet. He said the xadv was one of his dream bjems then when his friend let him try it, he was disappointed laugh.gif
*
ok, but he's right, the XADV doesn't launch very well, and it's pretty laid back
and the gearing, keeps the engine struggling to push the bike
I felt the engine just 'brrr' under, but the gearing doesn't let it push the bike forward
there's no thrill

Don't ask me top speed. I ride around 80-100km/h speed, only accelerate (easily) to 130 during overtake.
*
what's the RPM at those speeds?

I noticed I am hovering around 3.5k-4.5k rpm but will confirm back.

Gone to 6k rpm when overtake up to 130km/h, or when climbing hills.

It's alright.
Never have balls for this speed.
Don't think I will ever find out.
biggrin.gif
*
top speed = cube root (hp) * 49.5 kmh

my 400 is a twin cylinder, so power comes at later rpm, around 1k late, 30kph at 3k, then slowly 90kph at 5.5k RPM so it isn't as fuel economy as the ADV350, around 20km/liter only

Singles are very fuel efficient if kept at low speeds. But Honda engines are typically very frugal. Both the 500 and 750 xadv/nc mills sips gas.

My similar sized dominar will also do  27-30km/L if ridden at 80-100.

The funny part is my dominar and 800nk gets the same fuel economy numbers going at 140 so go figure.....
*
yeah, even the Tigers are frugal
