Tried a budget HE keyboard from Taobao, mainly because it's a 75% with a knob and cheap. It's decent for the price, the software looks basic but includes most if not all the function. Replaced the switches on WASD with Gateron Magnetic Jade Switch, I would say the only weak points are it's not gasket mounted and the color of the backlight in combination with the transparent top case of the switches. Not like something's wrong with the board LED, but look at how the different switch color affect the LED color when I set it to white. Ngl it kinda bothers me at first but then I don't use backlight most of the time anyway.

Price excluding shipping
Keyboard RM194.50 (¥299.00)
Replacement Switches RM14.31 (¥22.00)

How does it compare to something like the wooting?
*
Don't have Wooting but from videos, I would say it have all the software features at a fraction of the price. To me, it sounds better than stock Wooting. However, there might be other options that's around the same price if you don't need 75% layout.

Easy cop if you play Valorant, it's a decent board to dabble in and experience rapid trigger while waiting for more manufacturer to get into the game.

Most people that tried it didn't experience any accidental presses at 0.1mm actuation point with the stock switches. I just swap the stock WASD switches out, set them to 0.1mm and have the rest of the keys at 0.2mm.

I have used my CM Storm Trigger Z with Cherry MX brown for 10 years.

Now i wanna get another full size KB but with more tactile feel than MX brown switches .

Any recommendations ?

You would have more option if you could live with 96%

Personally, I would get Keychron V6 or V6 Max barebone kit with QMK/VIA support from Taobao tongue.gif

Hi i'm new to mechanical keyboards and looking to get a TKL or 75% size and needs to be quiet and ideally below RM300. Any recommendations?
*
If you don't mind buying from Taobao and wait few weeks using sea shipping via agent to avoid SST for best price-performance, I would recommend the assembled 3-Mode VTER Galaxy80Pro for RM203-RM216 excluding shipping depending on your color choice. It's basically an upgraded version of EPOMAKER x Feker Galaxy80 (VTER galaxy80) which you could find lots of video on Youtube.

CODE
Gasket Full Aluminum Case (1.71KG on spec sheet but I suspect it's a little more since my parcel weight is 2.26kg)
3-Mode (Wired, Bluetooth, 2.4G)
RGB Hotswap PCB, Supports 3-Pin/5-Pin Switches
4000mAh capacity battery
MDA profile doubleshot PBT keycaps
Acrylic nameplate on the back
Electrostatic spray coating with glitter that I personally prefer over anodized as it's more scratch resistant

The switches included aren't quiet, but you can just swap them out with the quiet switches of your choice and resell the original switches. There's a 3-Mode barebone kit version of the board for RM176 but it's only available in light green. For only around RM30 more, you get switches and keycaps.

If the green board matches your aesthetic, you could save the trouble of selling and swapping out the switches if you go with this option. It looks great with certain tones of keycaps, look at the photos biggrin.gif

https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?_u=820asbo...d=779264280336&

There might be other recommendations if you have other requirements such as needing a volume knob, screen or don't mind only having wired connection.

I'm wondering if anyone tried having their boards refinish/cerakoted here?

Any pros locally?
*
I only tried re-anodizing back in 2014, called so many spots and asked around. The whole thing cost less than RM40, basically u tumpang their other large orders, I waited a week for the color I went with.

Not sure if they still do this, I think a few people went there last time after my recommendation.

It's finally here after few days, scared me when I notice the box looking a little rough. They replaced the switches for top spec Rainy75 with these new custom Kailh switches that have the same MX Cream stem as BCP switch.

how much you get it? and from taobao?
*
Yep they are from Taobao for around RM350. Since I can't wait to get my hands on it, I opt for air instead of sea shipping. It's within 3kg which cost RM59 inclusive of potential tax.

IINM the stem and bottom housing is identical, it's slightly lighter and smoother.

IDK how I feel about this MDA set

I would not be using those bloody caps lol

Cool keeb though, they are selling more than that locally i think.
*
I was thinking of using the caps with the HE board, I even got a red knob but then I sold the board.

Even the base spec is like 420+ on Shopee, top spec is like 500+. I think you could get it a bit lower with 10% cashback.

Sea shipping is definitely the way to go, be prepared to wait a long time though.

My order is still on the way, items reached the warehouse on June 11 and 12 left the port yesterday while June 8 items departed on June 16.

Based on the estimation, it should take 5 days to reach Malaysia.

I guess I need to replace the switch.. Rm20 for 35 switch seems good.. Do you guys lube it? What type of lube you guys use? I saw there is gpl with many diff model and permatex..
How many gram will be used if we lube over 100 keys? I think mine is prelube 1 year plus when I bought.. But I need prelube these new switch that I going to replace..
*
Personally, I would consider replacing all the switches with new budget factory lubed switches. Either get Leobog Graywood V4 locally or MZ Studio Z1 from Taobao.

If you passby Batu Caves area, can grab 90 pcs new Graywood V4 from me for RM30 tongue.gif

Where did you get the crush80?

I tried HMX xinhai, changlan and Hyacinth V2. Really like the Hyacinth V2 feel and sound. The is dense enough and high pitch enough
*
Taobao as usual, imagine how many people are ready to pull the trigger. 8pm restock and gone within 3 seconds, I made the mistake of checking address. Only can order one unit and they aren't restocking black, so I guess silver is the first pick for most people.

I was tempted to try Canglan V2 and Hibiscus as they have the lowest pitch and quietest among all the HMXs, but then I decided to go low actuation switches instead.

The options were between this, HMX Perky and Geonworks Raptor MX Extreme. I like how it looks, the other two have transparent top shell that turns white light into pink and red. Perky is loud while vintage citrus has the lowest total travel @ 3mm, almost went with raptor as it has the lowest pre-travel among these @ 0.9mm.

Might just buy 10 switches each later on and compare them, this switch feels damn snappy rclxm9.gif

Which is the most popular and best wireless mechanical keyboard? Best if the battery can last very long.
*
If you turn on lights, the battery isn't going to last very long.

Most popular maybe NuPhy Halo75 V2 or Halo96 V2 tongue.gif

Hi all newbies here, cn i knew how many keycaps on ducky shine 6?
*
108 keys, seem like the bottom row has the standard 1.25u keys with a 6.25u spacebar.

Are you planning to replace the keycaps on your ducky?

Aula new trimode cast aluminium 75% with hot-swappable knob Fire-75 to be release soon.

Estimated to be around 200RMB, seem to have better value than Hi75. Leobog would compete for this price bracket with the upcoming Hi8 SE.

Only 4 colors available for release, blue is prototype shown at expo few days ago

3rd batch Crush80 finally arrived, much better QC this time. No visible imperfection besides the WOB plate on the back.

Crush80 supposed to be barebone kit, but they gave free Kailh switches, ugly keycaps and aluminum plate.

The alu plate is bent, well I won't be using it anyway because it has the same layout.

Warehouse left out one of my parcel so I am still waiting on split space plate, 2u stabs and light blue crush keycap set.

Temp keycap
