Should I go for Aula S100Pro or S98?

layout is different. also check the color scheme and the switches if they are what u want.

check the specs see the difference, then check pricing and make ur decision

try google got comparison filters

https://keeb-finder.com/keyboards/compare/a...omaker-aula-f99

i advocate for AULA F108 Pro because its 100% full kb layout, its a 2025 new release, aluminium casing, nkey roll over

fyi my old 2023 aula f99 has a 8000 mah battery. i see the S100 Pro does as well

some of the things u want to check

- battery. how big is it? e.g. my Aula F99 is 8000 mAh for example. some different models i see have 4000 mAh. I know which i prefer without having to elaborate laugh.gif

- nkey roll over? if u do simultaneous key press, i recommend make sure the mkb has this

- keycaps doubleshot? this or dye subbed is good. some have side print but see through keycaps for lettering. check what u r getting

- casing? my F99 is plastic pbt? where the 108 pro seems to be aluminium casing. The later is nicer, but former is ok for most user that aren't too fussed about that.

- switches? which type?

- gasket mount? etc

- software any good? i found the aula to be fine, but some people compare to other mkb and say its bad by comparison.

- price? anything similar but cheaper? u go check and let us know

check the product pages, compare urself. google, check reddit. if too lazy, ask AI (i use gemini) laugh.gif also share with us ur findings as well.

go google type "aula f108 pro switch specification" without quotes.

OR, open ur smartphone talk to ur ai (e.g. gemini) ask it directly

there so many even i get confused (minimum u can check if its tactile or linear). if not sure what is good and bad for switches, repeat the same thing in google and ask about reviews or opinions on the switch type. normally id also add on, reddit, since most of the discussions happen there.

linear and tactile are very different. im ok with either. but what im not ok with is the clicky blues puke.gif

maybe it's too much haha there might be no need to do cherry-picking anymore these days.

right, it's not easy to make stuff that are liked by most. this can only happen once in a while. it's the same cycle for every brand in the market.

edit: back in the days, we had limited choices in terms of key switches. we could only find ways to make what we had better for ourselves, by ourselves. users were thrilled when gateron, kailh, outemu, greetech, and zeal showed up. then, jwk/durock, tecsee, bsun, ttc, sp-star, huano, haimu, etc. appeared one by one, followed by a lot more vendors, big and small. i have lost count after that haha

but some of the options now got so many switches hard to keep up and figure whats what

https://aulagear.com/products/aula-f108-pro...=41802068033632

here got this model mkb, and different color theme (colors and the keycap styles). Then they all have different switch tied to that theme. so if the switch u like is on a color scheme u dont like then tough sad.gif

LEOBOG Reaper Mechanical Switch

LEOBOG Greywood V3 Switch

LEOBOG Nimbus V3 Switch

LEOBOG Reaper Mechanical Switch

when i look at this im like wtf.... i only ask the question, is it linear? tactile? clicky or non clicky? actuation force? what stems? does the mkb have stabilizers?

Last time it used to be simpler with the cherry mechanical switches. it was black, red, blue, brown. Thats all u had to know and you knew which color had what characteristics etc. Now it's just chaos and confusion sweat.gif

these days i think a mkb necessarily needs to be a cherry mx. as long as it's good enough. and i would say most people want it to be a stem where their keycaps can easily be used in other similar stem mkbs, if they are modding it or replacing worned out keycaps.

anyway always check the reviews prior to purchase. they will usually cover everything including switches to see if its suitable for you or not.

exactly. but thats why now i just only look at the main characteristics like i mentioned when buy. otherwise is too confusing laugh.gif

also what may be disappointing is, if you like the mkb color scheme, but their paired switches is not to your liking..... your only option is to by a full set of switch and replace yourself, adding to the cost sweat.gif well i guess there is the option at least, but not everyone is too keen on that.

What do you think on Aula ? Nowadays all switch no more standard , any seller can name it as they wish.
Watch review on youtube mostly paid review and it can't be compare with actual typing feel without trying.

So, as for a budget MKB , is Aula brand suitable ? Since I didn't use MKB before , it's hard to judge.
Who use Aula brand before ? Moogle Stiltzkin

Looking for Full size 100% keyboard for office use typing document and email.Don't need any RGB or colour keycap colour.Maybe white or yellow
I just prefer to have standard keyboard layout suits for office.

i'm quite satisfied with my F99 Aula.

If you don't mind a plastic out casing for the mkb, it's fine. There is enough heft to it so it doesn't slide around when typing. But there are alternatives if you insist on having a full aluminium other metal chasis for the mkb, but that will cost you extra.

Battery life last long time. Someone recommended me this over a different brand, but this had more battery life. Good thing i went with the recommendation. I use this for weeks on the battery using 2.4ghz wifi.

the lighting is ok, enough for me. lots of effects to choose from. for me i opted for the lighting where it only shows when i press stuff. this also helps saves battery while still having that bling.

the software UI and macro setup is sufficient. I don't have a comparison for that to other brands, but i read other brands do a much better job in terms of UI for the mkb software settings. I tried it and it's sufficient. To use the software you have to used the wired type c usb. Once done configuring, you can remove the wire and stick to wireless mode.

F99 is not a 100% layout. it's close to it. It's ok for 99.9% of the time, but since there is no print screen key, i had to repurpose via the macro to change one of the least used keys like pgup or pgdown to print screen. thats the main downside for not being a full 100% layout.

There is a different aula model that is a newer model and is a 100% layout, so i would recommend that over this F99 tbh.

The keycaps for this Aula F99, is very good especially at the price point i paid for this. Mine is the white / grey / black color scheme, a very techie classic retro look. other people may prefer more modern color schemes.

the switches that came with this model i'm satisfied with. actuating the keys don't feel too stiff, they are silent (as it gets for mkb switches. probably not the most quietest but not the worse either. but for me it was fine. And it's not clicky which i hate.)

cleaning was easy. take a picture, then pluck keycaps with keycap puller, toss them into a bucket with cleaning fluid and let it soak a while then later rinse and dry them (ideally under sun). any dirt stuck inside the casing just use a hand held blower to blow it out.

It doesn't support VIA or QMK firmware if you like those modifications for the software. The software features for me was sufficient. I only worry the most whether the mkb had a keylogger or not (since its a china brand). probably doesn't sweat.gif *cross fingers
