Woke decide Mary Sue? The whole MCU was and still under Kevin Feige supervision and plan. Captain Marvel was already planned way before Avengers Infinity War and Endgame. They wanted a female superhero to rival Wonder Woman but can't use any X-Men at that time. So, the only female superhero that fits the bill was Captain Marvel.

The movie could have been a lot better because it was set in the 80's and had tons of potential to tell a fun story where superheroes are not the norm yet. Instead, the movie turn up to be just another origin story and just not that good.

Brie Larson casting was really a miss which was an odd miscasting because Marvel casting has been spot on so far. She was trying too hard to be like some sort of female Superman but ended up looking too snobbish and proud. I don't judge her on what she said outside the movies but judged her based on her performance as Capt. Marvel so far.

Marvel actually wanted Emily Blunt but she was contracted to make another movie at that time. I think if they have gone for Emily Blunt, the reception would be a lot better. Look at her performance in Edge of Tomorrow and I believe she will make a much better Captain Marvel.

I think you should be fair. She did work out a lot for the role but her costume does not really need her to have super muscles like Chris Pratt, Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth. Heck, it did not even need her to show her biceps like Jane Thor.

Isn’t it the same old life long skewed small tiny bias argument? When women do it, it’s called being a bitch. When it’s men who do it, they are called cool. So yes, your so called judgment based on performance is actually extremely bias. Because you want them to look ‘soft’, but given the same situation where a man has to act all tough because that’s how they have been scripted , you will be applauding and say wow this superhero is cool! And amazing performance!

Do we have a young version of her?

Gal Gadot got a lot of hate also. Wanda didn't because she wasn't a main character.

But people tends to forget on their hatred. Just like when people triggered Keaton become Batman.

A lot of the criticism were forgotten after the movies came out because they perform well and convincing enough in their role.

Keaton was well received as Batman after the first Batman came out. Gal Gadot was the same as her cameo in Batman vs Superman was one of the highlight in that movie.

Brie Larson portrayal as Capt Marvel so far has not been good and convincing enough.

There was also that interview, the one where she was super awkward to fan questions. The one she went is this a threat?

Also the fact she didnt bother to work out much for the role. I mean look at the shit Chris Pratt, Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth put to play their roles. Did she even put in a tenth of the effort?
