None. Unless you apply for free basic savings account.
Or you cancel the debit card.

I am not really sure but I think Maybank don't charge for my Savings account, but it is an old account for many years.

CIMB has free BASIC SA account. My PBB don't.charge either because I didn't bother to renew my ATM card when there was an exercise to change to new cards by all the banks some years back.

RHB Smart Account will waive if you performed a few debit transactions per year.

I think most banks should have some version of a no annual fee, basic savings account, but of course it's not advertised cos the annual fee x client base = $$$$ for them

Both my Public Bank and Maybank BSAs no annual fee; I just tell them that I don't need the unlimited ATM withdrawals.

CIMB octo account have debit card annual fee waiver.
HSBC Perks@Work free debit card annual fee waiver + free MEPS withdrawal but must have salary credited to the account.
SCB have something similar to HSBC Perks@work
MBB allow u to change to the basic debit card account where in 1 month you can withdraw 4 time without charges, subsequent withdrawal will charge 50 sen.

I seriously think that they really should just waive when ppl put huge deposits with them. Most ppl who puts huge deposit dun even use their ATM facilities but are more interested in transferring their monies to a primary acct that's all.

I mean I am a privilege customer for hlb and yet I still have to pay in order to get a debit card.

If 2 banks offer a similar fd rate, customer will still go to the one that does not charge a fee in their savings acct even if the bank is a little far away. It's the psychology effect.

i think every bank has no annual fee saving account, it is just that it is their modus operandi not telling u that and open the ones with annual fee if u din specifiy.

1. annual fee of RM8 with unlimited withdrawal
2. no annual fee, but limited to 4 withdrawals from ATM per month

All MALAYSIAN banks can.

Maybank needed to walk in to branch to opt for BSA (NO FEES). Same with Affin Bank and RHB Bank. Only OCBC I needed to call to cancel the debit card for my 360 Account.

Currently having 4 savings accounts (3 with debit cards) all paying no annual fees.

Some banks will tipu-tipu tell you got no version with no annual fees. Just threaten to report the officer and branch to BNM. All Malaysia/Local banks have BSA with no fee options. Only SG/Foreign banks don't need to cater to this ruling.

I still have 2 accounts, one BSA With Fee and one BSA No Fee. My thoughts previously was that I may want to use ATM more often hence to keep the BSA with Fee. Byu seriously do they charge you u you do over the number of times on ATM/counter per month? Is it costly?

All banks do offer basic saving account which has no ATM fees... just that the officer that handle you wanted to let you open such account or not... cause end of the day rm8 is the company's money, thus they need to operate it as per 'instructions'... one way to get rid of it is (when the officer that handle you cannot offer u such BSA) get him/her to talk to the branch manager and tell them u will complain to bank negara... and than u will get what u want...
