Hi sifus,

During AC gas top up, charging pressure achieved is 30 psi low side and 210 psi high side. Ambient about 32°C.

My 2007 Avanza AC is cooler now than before, BUT not chilling cold (Can't remember whether original brand new AC on new Avanza is chilling cold or not).

Do I have to top up gas again, immediately after a top up according to this Chart?

If your car bonnet is still ori, take a look the sticker underneath it. The one with the static ignition advance value.

Normally manufacturer will state how much refrigerant to charge into the system, by mass, not by pressure. There is a reason to this and I think they know better.

I am of coz assuming every other AC components along the way is in good shape.

Thanks for the referral and the responses.

Yes, my bonnet is original and AC system components should all be good with the exception of having to top up aircon gas once in every 3-5 years to 'gain' back a cooling ac blowing breeze.

Btw, I can't remember ever getting a 'chilling' cold ac breeze in say past 10 years (unless nighttime heavy rain). When new, I have no idea now.

Ok, would check with sticker underneath of ori bonnet and report back what I find.

Aircon man confirms no leaks during the top up. I don't ever remember my 15 yo aircon system has any leaking problem, except periodical topping up of gas.

Yes, feeling hot at idle or slow road speed say after 11 am.

If need to topup, means there is leak, likely the evaporator. AC system is closed system.

Have you change before your aircon compressor oil? Mine same problem as yours last time. If idle and not moving aircond hot. Purging the old oil out and putting in new oil solves it.

That's about normal, can add a bit if you want to 220, 230psi but really it should be by weight

Don't touch the ac pressure if it is cool. AC pressure is kinda sensitive to throttle especially for those vehicles without climate control (compressor on and off a lot).

Vehicle ac refrigerant is best to fill up measured with weight instead of pressure.

Is a closed system, doesn't or need to top up regularly. Check for leaks.
If it rains and is cooler, check your radiator/condensor fan if fine, check your condensor for blockage/hotspots.

Hot during idle/low speed (not enough air moving through the condensor), surely is radiator/condensor fan not pulling enough air.

Yes, there is a plate underneath the bonnet.
It says refrigerant is R134a and compressor oil is ND Oil 8.
Cannot see the respective quantities as they are very blurry and unclear.
May need to clean/wash the plate further......

During 3-4 times of topping up aircon gas so far, I don't know whether compressor oil is ever topped up or not, especially the current top up.

I've not done any vacuum/recharge so far, as I thought that is not necessary.

Usually it needs around 45min to 1 hour to cycle out old oil n purge in the new oil. It uses a machine, you wont miss it. However if the compressor already damaged, then it wont help anymore.
