I think it is important to know what you want this notebook for. What kind of apps do you plan to use, or are currently using. What budget?

Thread starter stated a 5K budget, so an MBP is out of the question.
I'd go with the XPS. The MacBook is underpowered in comparison to the XPS, and it's so rabidly popular that there's little appeal in owning one unless you're committed to switching to OS X. Upgrade the XPS M1330 a bit with the 8400GS, LED-backlit display, and you'll end up with a light and powerful machine. |

Most ppl(mac users) sure told you to "convert" to mac Btw, just try asking these question to yourself - Do you want better performance (in terms of the laptop spec)? - What do you want to do with your laptop? - Willing to learn new things (learning how to use mac osx)? If you very mind the performance and gaming, just go for XPS. Just to let you know, apple products are little "overprice". GMA 950 is no-no for gaming. With 5k budget, you can get a quite good laptop (not mac laptop), such as Acer gemstone, definite good if you are a gamer |

for a full spec'ed XPS 1330, i rather get a macbookpro
when i mean full spec, i mean decent with about 6-7k but if u really want a 13" for RM4k, macbook is much better than what dell offers... |

QUOTE(Endless9930 @ Oct 23 2007, 05:09 PM) Hardcore gamers on MacBook, no way for sure! Unless those old games that doesn't take much 3D processing.MacBook Pro at least.. Starting at RM7499. Remember, laptops are not meant for games, but you can do gaming on MacBook Pros. Think again, EA games are on Mac already! http://www.apple.com/games/articles/2007/06/ea/ Think again. |

i would recommend XPS.
1. You wont be able to upgrade much hardwares for MacBook. 2. You cant do as much as PC can do, comparing to Mac(h*ckintosh) 3. 5k can buy a quite powerful laptop, mac just doesnt worth it. |

hongie, the very fact that you posted your question here in this forum proves unquestionably that you want to get the MacBook, subconsciously or otherwise.
You won't regret getting a Mac. |

well, xps 13" nv seem to be good laptop!
i would like to say, DELL has the worst machine design in malaysia. i have somefrens work in dell as well, they do told me machine no good! software and hardware hardly coop well! actually, it depands on wat are u going use for? normal usage, documents, net surfing, entertaiment, digital media editing.... go for MAcbook, u wont regret! if u are engineering guy, then u FORCE to USE WINDOWS VISTA with VISUAL Features only. Added on October 24, 2007, 1:00 am QUOTE(morpheus5 @ Oct 23 2007, 08:54 PM) i would recommend XPS. are u gonna have war for 5k budget laptop?1. Alienware bro! Guys, actually i have some point of view see, we always looks on the computer hardware spec... is that all about computer's performance? i do think that software plays a very important roles as well! so, i do think tat, if u really wanna knows which is better, the best way is hands on the machine by yourself, feel it! Not just the printed technical specs This post has been edited by cRazYee: Oct 24 2007, 01:06 AM |
