For me, only "tough" part is the prep before the scope as you need to entirely clear the contents of your bowel for them to get a good look inside. I drank 2 jugs of liquid laxatives provided by the nurse and can't remember how many times I need to hit the toilet and bidet becomes your best friend and the toilet paper is just killing you.
After that, the procedure is totally painless and you'll be woozy for the next few hours after waking up. So better have someone to drive you home after the procedure since its a day board only. I had a pretty comfortable experience doing my scope there. if you're in KV area, can consider.
It's recommended to do a colonoscopy if you're around that age esp, if you have any family cancer history or gastro health concerns. I had months of stomach issues before I took the courage to go for my 1st scope.
