Go for colonscopy and endoskopi

Not cheap but once in a while do it will be good.

U may do it at any hospital estimate cost around 5 to 7k will need to board half day due to anesthesia

My health check results how that my CEA level is very high and doctor recommends doing colonoscopy too. But I dont have any symptoms at all and I don't smoke.

I did my upper endoscopy and colonoscopy at Thomson Hospital with their resident gastro Dr Dennis. I was fully covered under my AIA personal insurance. According to the invoice the total came up to RM4.5K. This was a year ago though so cost may vary.

For me, only "tough" part is the prep before the scope as you need to entirely clear the contents of your bowel for them to get a good look inside. I drank 2 jugs of liquid laxatives provided by the nurse and can't remember how many times I need to hit the toilet and bidet becomes your best friend and the toilet paper is just killing you. sweat.gif Took me almost 2.5 hours to empty everything (YMMV).

After that, the procedure is totally painless and you'll be woozy for the next few hours after waking up. So better have someone to drive you home after the procedure since its a day board only. I had a pretty comfortable experience doing my scope there. if you're in KV area, can consider.

It's recommended to do a colonoscopy if you're around that age esp, if you have any family cancer history or gastro health concerns. I had months of stomach issues before I took the courage to go for my 1st scope.

Why? It's not a common examination

Your health check did so many health markers tests? It's not a normal test

My policy covers daycare procedures, which colonoscopy falls under.

The persistent stomach issues. and a routine blood test with tumour markers showed I have above normal readings for CA199 marker.
