Haha, my bad, didn’t scroll through. Thanks for the heads-up!

Looks like the subsidy is quite similar to last year’s - just that the phone is more expensive now…

Maybe with the huge order by China. The production also cannot cope. Then we also cannot get on day 1. 🥵

Gotcha

so has anyone figured out which retailers offer the best deal for pre-orders? (rebates or 1 year extended warranty etc) not instalment but one off payment?

winner so far is IT world and senheng for the additional year extended warranty?

Looking at the Maxis plans, lets say if we were to get the Pro Max 256GB with the Postpaid 128 plan.

Phone price = Rm4804 for Postpaid 128

Month Subscription Rm128 per month X 24 = Rm3072

So RM6299 - Rm4804 = Rm 1495 Savings.

Total Ownership cost Rm7876

But if you buy from Apple store at RRP at Rm6299

And you use Maxis Postpaid Rm48 x 24 months = Rm1152

Total ownership cost Rm7451

So buying from Maxis with the Postpaid 128 plan actually costs Rm425 more.

Not sure about IT World. But Sen Heng did bungle up on the pre-order for Iphone 13 last round causing much delays.

It depends on what plan you are using right now.

Like for me, I'm using postpaid 128 now, so buying through maxis' 24-month contract will help me save rm1540 terus.

The difference is data plan. You can even go lower with Hotlink Postpaid 40 with 8GB High Speed Data and 8GB Youtube. Call plans are the same. Unlimited calls and sms.

Don't forget need to add 6% SST on the plan itself

outright definitely save more money,

i'm using hotlink prepaid + TIME fibre at home, working remotely

bought 365 days validity + 20GB w/o expiry, so far only spent rm90 on this hotlink prepaid since last december. still have 21GB balance.

barely use it
