We will wait and see then what Apple does but Apple under Tim Cook focus more on profit than innovation. Which is why i think they wont rush to go port-less yet.
*
Since I have some time on my hands, I shall delve a bit into this. Again, whilst you are not wrong about the Cook, it is precisely, if you care to think a little deeper, because of his mindset that Apple will go portless. If they opt for USB-C, their profits will erode as, for one, they cannot sell their proprietary lightning cables and 2, this being the kicker, many out there would already have the Type C chargers. Even if they don’t, there are tons in the market which work just as well, if not better and of course will be much cheaper.

Going portless would mean that the sales of their MagSafe chargers which they have so vehemently promoted would grow given that it is touted as most suitable for iPhones especially with the like cases. And let’s not forget their AirPods and AirPods Pro.

However, once again I reiterate, we will have to wait and see when the time comes.

If you don’t like to press the physical buttons too much/often, use Assistive Touch.

Guys, I bought an USB to lightning OTG cable for transferring data to my 14Pro but it’s erratic as sometimes it reads the flash/pen drives and card reader; and sometimes it does not.

Need some recommendations for the OTG cable and card reader which are compatible with iPhones aside from Apple.

Any and all advice are appreciated .

I recommend the Apple one - guaranteed to work for future iOS versions also because it has a certified chip inside.

But if you don't use it that often it might not be worth the RM 189 price. is the one you bought unbranded? maybe can try a branded one like this McDodo adapter
*
Thanks. I am possibly going to use it for just this one time and that’s the reason I do not want to spend a ‘ton of money’ on it. The one I bought is Moxom and was recommended by the sale personnel. I have a charger of this brand which serves me well. So, I went with it. If there are no more suitable ones, will probably go for your McDodo. Thanks once again.

Regarding battery for 14PM,
I charged it to 100% before I slept last night and when I woke up this morning it is 94%. Is it normal?

IOS 16.1
AOD off
*
I don’t want to be a party popper as I don’t share the others’ views who said it’s normal. Mind you, not saying they are wrong. My input here is based on my very own experience.

Every time, if at all my battery is charged full to 100% at night before I hit the sack, the next morning it’s still at 100%. This is so far every single time. BTW, mine is 14Pro. Don’t ask me what I do to make it such cause I just use my phone as normal. Why yours differs from mine, I don’t have an answer. Perhaps others can share their own experience. I do not have AOD on and averagely it’s about 7 hours of ‘downtime’.

connect the memory card to PC, copy the songs to a folder, add them to iTunes, connect iPhone using cable, sync them. no need to buy adapter lol
*
Once again, thanks. But I did mention initially I do not want to utilize iTunes though I have an account.

I shall persevere and find a way. Thanks and cheers.

Bought this 14PM (128 DP) this morning from Direct D Sri Permaisuri Cheras. Using RHB CC got RM50 discount. First time using iPhone. Hope not to late. Still wondering which telco is good for this phone. Want try Unifi Mobile or can anyone recommend which telco is great. Living area Sri Permaisuri. Thanks
*
If I am digesting your post correctly, unless you are talking about a pre-paid plan which makes my response moot, why didn’t you obtain your iPhone by signing a contract with a telco which will reduce the cost by a fair bit?

Hi, I recently upgraded to a new phone with Face ID from a non-Face ID iPhone. I noticed that Face ID only works at certain angles. For example, it won't unlock when the phone is level with my face. I have already tried removing and re-registering my Face ID, with Face ID with the mask feature. Does anyone have any tips for improving the unlock angle?
*
Yes. Angle your face when registering in the position you would normally look at the phone when unlocking.

Got my iPhone 14 pro since this year Jan, so far everything’s great. The only thing to complain is the battery. As of the time I’m typing now battery 28% from 100% with 6 hours SOT. Not sure whether it’s normal for 14 pro. Need to charge twice on a daily basis. Everything optimised, always on is off, app location off too.
*
I am not trying to be funny but my response, if you digest correctly, should address the issue as a whole.

I have got the same phone as yours. Like you , I too have optimised almost everything. But unlike you my phone needs recharging usually every third day. Why? It’s my usage pattern. Period.

I don’t think my usage pattern is heavy. Mainly on web browsing, YouTube and WhatsApp. Not on data, mainly on wifi. I’m comparing to my other iPhone 12 Pro, which has significantly much better battery life. Just gathering feedback whether my 14 pro has issues or not.
Mainly my phone will be on airplane mode with wifi and Bluetooth, cuz the place I’m staying doesn’t provide good cellular service. Cuz I’m comparing to my other work phone which is an iPhone 12 Pro that I’m using currently with has close to 8 hrs SOT, with heavy emailing and web browsing. Just require one day of charge but same 20% - 80%.
*
Well, if these were mentioned in your first post then my response would have been different and that was actually my point. Anyway, given what you stated now, especially saying your 12Pro has better battery life, if it were me I would bring it to an AASP to check.

brought 14PM last year Nov 22, after latest updare 16.6 my battery health reduced to 98%.

Before update its was 99% only for couple of days since last week. It was 100% during update 16.5.

is this normal?
*
Battery health is very much dependent on your usage and charging habits besides your usage. So, your question cannot be answered to any degree of accuracy.

Before your update as stated by you, the % could already be on its way down. Therefore, normalcy is owner based.

Isn’t it the battery that is generating heat thus making the phone hot? The question is what’s making the former getting such high temperature? Software issues? Running background apps? Rogue apps? Or?
