The fact that we need to use NFC card to reload via eWallet app instead of directly top up to a normal TnG card already dumb as shit. Now NFC card shortage, normal TnG card shortage summore.

This is in addition to the troubles with RFID and TnG cards that malfunction with no reason.

I thought it was already established that TnG cards are made offline due to the fact that in the early 2000's, internet connection was slow and unreliable, therefore the value/ balance is stored inside the TnG Card instead, but in modern days, we shouls screw PLUS for refusing to implement PayDirect.

PLUS are the troublemakers

Not sure about the early naughts, but nowadays confirmed they are stored in their servers because we can check our card balance in the TnG app.

Oh I also forgot to mention paydirect via TnG card not working on closed toll highways.

It's really not rocket science, it's all politics. Just ridiculous.

I recall somewhere mentioned paydirect will add to cost and machine upgrade, so not all places wanted to do that

Yeah, balance is still stored on cards and synced with their servers later, i can confirm that because i reloaded my card at a Self Service Kiosk, the balance was not updated on the App until i passed some tolls

They won't, they wanna siphon as much money as possible for themselves, PLUS even engage a lawsuit with CIMB (TnG partner) just to block that

in the early 2000's, it was possible to direct auto-reload TnG cards via any CC (not Zing) when the balance is low. it will be much better if this function is still there.

Even tho old tech, theoretically now the card only need to store the account ID to query the balance from server......no need to store the balance in the card itself, just like RFID system lah (please don't tell me they store the balance in the RFID tag also )

I dunno how much it would cost them to change to system, but c'mon la get on with the times FFS.

lmao its too easy to implement and too convenient for the people, if they do this they:

cannot songlap from tng card & rfid tag
cannot songlap from upgrading system
cannot songlap from replacing hardware

easy brain leechers inside plus just wont implement tht.

many times go reload "reload system down", and our payment system is probably on the same server...

o ya, tng card n rfid is 2 separate development, so most probably separate server/system

it's the other way round.

PLUS announced they are working on RFID solution.

TnG is the one that went in and sued PLUS to cease development. iinm mistaken, something about preventing PLUS from developing a competing solution.
