TS, are you a person who gets stressed easily or have been in a very stressful situation since childhood (I understand that is unlikely).

I only had it when I was super stressed at work. Once the cause of the stress is removed, then I don't have it, having that happen is the signal for me to change jobs.

I am a high anxiety person since childhood. Runs in the family. From start of pandemic until mid this year I was under very high stress situation - it got much worse. But for past few months, stress sources gone already. Yet I still do it I think, to the extent during my waking hours also sometimes I catch myself unconsciously doing it.

I hv been struggling with bruxism all my life. It got worse when i am stressed out at work. And nowadays mouth-guard is very expensive yet if i dont use it, i am afraid i damage my teeth. For my case, it only happens during sleep time. If you are un-consciously doing it during wake hours, you really need to make yourself aware to stop. Otherwise after some time, may become a permanent habit!

I am having this issue too even when I am awake. Nowadays I just try to bite my lips instead, as I recently is indeed very stressful

Suggest u try chewing gum for your awake hours, basically you are unconsciously needing to nibble something. Make sure its sugar-less ya, to prevent cavities.

I guess ur work must be quite stressful? Aiyo....
