Alza vs. Veloz

May I know your opinion if it is worth that extra RM20k?

Keep your original rim, when send to claim warranty, change back to ori rim.

When need to claim for warranty, pay some money to workshop change before sending in for claim.

Don't need to change every time go back service unless Perodua keep a record of cars mod what, then this method won't work. Just need to go back SC with original stuff if want to claim warranty.
I'm thinking of this too if wanna upgrade 17" and bodykit on Alza, might as well go for Veloz. But no Veloz to browse yet.

Anyone here having metal burnt smell in cabin when going uphill? Especially when rpm is more than 3500rpm. Similar to the welding fumes smell.

Not worth it, iinm. Owning a Veloz now, that RM20k better save it, even if you need to wait longer delivery time. Alza finishing quality is better than Veloz iinm, only few extras stuff here and there in the Veloz which I believe can live without. I am experiencing the following problem:
1. Burnt metal smell (like welding fumes) in cabin when doing uphill climb (Jalan Duta or Bukit Lanjan NKVE), particularly engine rpm is kept over 3500 during the climb, when reached the top of the hill, the smell is horrible.
2. Veloz only extra door handle is so poorly designed/assembled, it has sharp edge all over the handle which actually cut/peeled the skin off my palm and bled.
3. Gearbox judders causing whole car to shake when accelerating slow (especially when you hold cvt at 2500rpm).
4. Panel gap/misalignment even the car is brand new, Toyota QC is sleeping on the job, never check if the product badged as Toyota lives up to Toyota QC standard. If possible, don't pay that extra for Perodua -rebadged Toyota. You are not getting your money's worth in terms of QC checking.

If Alza also has these problems, then why pay more to get the same problems?

11,000km and 10 months old. The burning smell still start while climbing or reached the end of hill climb. Going up from Jalan Duta toll NKVE, press and climb around 120 to 130km/h. After finishing that climb, the burnt/welding smell infiltrates into the cabin.

Inner circulation. A colleague who is driving Ativa also commented same issue as him, burnt smell in cabin, especially when doing extended uphill climb at high rpm.

Pay RM90k for a Terukdah Alza, I am one of them.

List of problems:
1) Smelly hot metal smell right after driving up Bukit Lanjan / Duta Toll at NKVE, smell like slip clutch pack.
2) Weird steering centre, very loose, a lot of free play.
3) ICC with lane keep assist keep driving like "snake".
4) Sharp plastic trim door handle (veloz only door handle), a cutting hazard when using it, actually peel the skin of my palm and bleed once.
5) Excessive vibration when accelerating pass 40-60km/h, you can feel the whole car rattling.

Any Alza owners facing these issues except for #4?

Need to waste AL to do the claim, Toyota SC don't do checking/troubleshooting during Sat.
