Successfully renewed my passport. Just walked in. No prior online application.

Went on a weekday. Lots of empty parking at 7.10am. Saw nobody. But upon reaching Level 2, about 30 ppl in the queue.
Everyone in same q - warga emas, online application, passport collection, etc. No mention about walk-in.
They opened at 8am. We got our nombor giliran and a small form each to fill up. I just told the officer I wanted to renew passport, so she asked if got bring old passport? Yes ok then 👌.
All 7 counters were opened. Counter 8 and 9 for passport collection. Counter 11 for making payments.

First hour, everything was efficient. Out of 7 counters, 2 were opened for elderly ppl and families with young children. Then not long after that, only 1 counter left to man other general applicants. To take photo, thumbprint.
In short..
Waited less than 2 hours for my turn to take photo, thumbprint. Make payment. Then another 45 minutes to collect the new passport.
For warga emas, much faster. It took less than an hour to be attended, and made payment. To wait for new passport, another 45 minutes to wait.
For me - I avoided to do online renewal because of so many complaints about loading photo, etc. Prefer to just walk in and wait.
Going there early is not a problem. Roads clear, no traffic jam, plenty of parking spaces. Just remember to wear dark clothes (for photo), know your height (when filling up the form), bring your old passport and mykad. They will return your old passport after cutting the edge. Check all details in new passport before leaving.
The immi office I went to, no need form for passport renewal. Just follow old details as in the old passport.
