She'll also sing at a higher tempo - 85 to 175BPM - compared to Hatsune Miku's 70 to 150BPM. It should be interesting to listen to, and it's a surefire bet that this'll be a huge hit too.

You'll need manually type the kanji in...it shouldn't be that hard to type the kanji.

The hard part is to synchronize with the song you want her to sing with... ._.

There's no import function ._. ...guess need to export to wav, then remix with the minus-1 mp3 :/

i need help with the program. whenever i enter in anything to the lyrics (roman letters, kanji, katakana, anything) the pronounciation doesnt change at all. nothing happens. i am wondering if i am doing something wrong or didnt set it up right?

FYI, this is a japanese software...so if u enter roman letters...
it will only work if u write japanese hiragana in romaji...

eg :
ha = は
sa = さ

and so on

My guess is u type in the whole word in one of the notes, izzit? If u did, u have to split the words in different part.

i have just installed this, its fun to play around with it, but the japanese language makes it harder for me to understand whatever i'm doing.

and can anyone recommend me a FREE mp3 -> midi converter? its hard finding a free one out there.

for now i cant seem to synchronize the voice the way i like it...very hard >.<


EDIT: just wanna ask, must we manually add ALL the notes into the program? a.k.a using the pencil tool to drag and shit, for every single word? or can it be done automatically once we upload the midi file (prog recognizes it or something) and just add the letters? getting the right tone and stuff is truly a very hard task to accomplish, for even 10 seconds thats alot of hard work getting the right sound at the right moment.

Oh, i just found out how to change the program language in to english, YAY!

lol, i thought u guys already knew how to do it, oh well, just remove the 4 .dll files that has the word "japanese" in their names, just place them in a separate folder and start the application, voila u have english commands.

this however doesnt 100% convert the program into english, but most of the important functions are.

Here's my 1st attempt of using this awesome software, and I hope it's not too late! A familiar song for the festive season "Suasana Hari Raya".

I ran out of time though... had to write out the MIDI first (since I can't find one readily available), then add Miku's voice. If I have time this weekend, I'll try to finish it. Need to add more secondary melody, precussions and the 2nd half of the song.

I wish someone could draw Miku in Baju Kurung (or Kebaya!) to be the video cover!

Hi guys.. Just got this Vocaloid 2 Hatsune Miku but its very hard to get the right kanji. Even when I try to load midi to it. It seems to fail always..

When i import a midi file, it all seems normal after i edited the crossing voices,but when i pushed the play button,all the track shrunk to little lines. It is still working but i cannot edit it again. Anyone know how to fix this?

in side got 3 files, read the notepad, and replace the files each respectively where they belong.

About the programm, yeah, it is the same.

And, hint: remove the 4 file that got the "Japanese" words DLL in the vocaloid folder to make some of the UI english =D

Question -- you know how when you save a song as a .WAV file, the file gets pretty huge?
How'd you tone down the file size?

I did only 16 seconds so far and it already is 2.6MB

The only options I get when exporting it are Exporting as WAV or Vocaloid MIDI, and the latter doesn't work.

Er... To be honest, I just found about this program yesterday. Still getting used to the timeline, and maybe I have to do some drafting first on a paper with simple stick-figure rather than randomly posing her.. Just do the animation like how you use Flash. (Is that... Pro enough? XD) Oh and I haven't tried the .VSQ lip-sync feature yet.

By the way, will VOCALOID2 program runs on a PC with 256MB RAM? (My common senses screams "no")

EDIT: I just remembered that if you er... emulate the motions you want in the 3D program, do it with your own body part. Learn how joints bent and don't forget that the "catmimi" accessory isn't that cute.

Nope, you write in alphabets a.k.a. romanji, but the pronunciations are limited to Japanese character pronunciations. Example is 'lu' and 'ru' are the same thing. There's also no '_ng' like r-ing, b-ang etc.. Fortunately for Malay songs, Miku doesn't sound that bad... at least not as bad as trying to make Miku sing English

Argh Darn I think its because i don't know how to make it say other things other than the aaaaa~~~ tune . Been trying going around this program for 3 days now.

Yeah, you need to understand Japanese phonetics a bit. Google up "Hiragana pronunciation" or go to here. Those are the valid 'syllables' that can go into the boxes of tone bar you draw using the pencil command on the music score. If the syllable is not correct, Vocaloid produces the default sound, written in the [ ], which usually is "a". As mentioned before, Japanese language phonetics is very limited.

o.o is that was u guys usually do ? check the romanji spelling then slowly insert the lyric in and guessing the length of the box and also guessing when to put empty spaces in it?

From where you are, there isn't much more to add. You can play around with it's voice velocity (by 'shaping' the graph below the timing bars), and the reverb of her voice by double clicking the bar (usually I set it as no reverb).

Strangely, the bar timing method is the easiest way to time Miku's syllables, or any other music based sequencing works. Most Drum and MIDI sequencers use bar timing.

If you're making the background song from scratch using MIDI, I'd recommend getting an old MIDI program called Midisoft Recording Session. Unfortunately it's uses normal Music notations instead of bar timing, but I guess I'm more use to music notation when making songs.

For drum sequencing I use Hydrogen (it's a GPL software)

Lastly for combining the voice, drums and music pieces together, I use Audacity (another GPL software)

hm how do i know the music singing timing for the other music im trying to copy. Wouldnt the voice and the bgm i made put would be off timing than the original music ? And um 1 more thing . I took like 45 min to get her to say the word " Tsuki no " properly in the right ascending and descending tune is it really that hard ? And um how do i make her sing louder* and softer * on certain notes .

Louder and softer is controlled using the velocity graph (select the "VEL" square button on the left bottom, then shape the graph right below the syllable that you want to make louder or softer).

However, I find it much easier to adjust loud/soft using Audacity. After you export Miku in wave form, use Audacity to change the amplitude (by selecting the section of wave and change the amplification)

As for the timing against an existing song, unfortunately you have to 'guess' the tempo of the background music, then apply it to the Miku program. If you're creating both the BGM (like using the MIDI creatorI mentioned before) and Miku from scratch, then you have control of both tempo, then all you need to do is align the music and voice in Audacity.

You can also try to use the tempo finder function in Audacity on the BGM wave file, but it's not always accurate.

I mean all this IS complicated. It takes dedication and patience to finish a song.

Absorb is da best, 1 of their member (Halyosy) wrote the song "sakura no ame" (桜ノ雨) about a yr ago. This song is pretty good and this spring (March,pass already) 116 school all over Japan using this song as their graduation song.

But the lyrics are pretty shallow to me but anyhow it's still beautiful.

and yeah nicovideo already show that song being sung by the graduate student in one particular japanese school.I'll try to search it later
