It's really all down to the composer themselves on how well they could handle the Vocaloid software. Even older ones like Meiko (same generation as Kaito) can still sound impressive in the right hands. Speaking of Meiko, Shu-tP made some really nice songs of her.

Also, Meiko x Luka = SO MUCH WIN
+1 Its all depends on the producers itself, on the tuning of the songs etc etc. For example, sometimes, Miku can sound like shiet, but sometimes, in the hands of some really talented producers, she can sound as real as she can get, even surpassing her Appends to be honest. And Shu-t? Change Me FTMFW
I still listen to Meiko's Piano x Forte x Scandal, which is IMHO, one of her masterpieces
There were some notable Kaito's work tho, One which I still hold as one of his best was actually Urotander (feat. Meiko and Miku as well)
For more up to date info on Vocaloid, I'd suggest browing Vocaloidism.com, Vocaloidotaku.net forum as well as vcld.net, all which I visited on a daily basis

MikuPa Live on NicoNico Douga
Yeah short post is probably going to be short, but I’m not much of a blog writer. The MikuPa Live concert is all sold out, however for those of you that can’t go to Tokyo to watch it in person, can watch it live at home on your own PC! The concert will be aired live on NicoNico Douga, however you will have to pay 2000 NicoNico points to be able to watch it. The concert is on March 9, 2011 and starts at 19:00 (Japan Time). The live link is here. If you do not have any Nico points, you will be able to watch some parts of the concert for free. Note that in order to obtain NicoNico Points, you need a credit card issued in Japan to purchase them. One method of payment if you live outside of Japan would be WebMoney
This is very good news for those who can't go to Japan for the concert
AFAIK, apart from this and the Zepp Tokyo Hall, the concert also going to be screened in 15 theaters in Japan. SIMULTANEOUSLY And for those who still want to watch it live, the same concert will be performed again in Sapporo at 3rd of May 2011.
So, what do you think? Personally, I'll try to watch it via the web
And a sneek peek at the rehearsal:
Yellow will be performed. Nuff said
p/s: The band is not the same as the previous concert. Demm, me gonna miss the drummer

-It seems like its not only Miku, Luka and Rin + Len will be there as well. -It'll going to be based on Miku 39's Giving Day 2010 Concert, the one with the transparent screen. -Danny Choo will be the MC. -It is sponsored by Toyota and will be held at Nokia Theater of Los Angeles on 2nd of July 2011 -More info here
Personally, I'm wondering, how about the P's? They will come too?

Oh, tried to search around Youtube for new samples of Vocalistener. Came across this, but surely this is just Pure Awesomeness. Behold, the power of Vocalistener!
Seriously, accessing all Miku voicebanks, resulting in much realistic voice, and yet, still sound as Miku as she can be? That is just plain genius. Now I'm excited as hell

I heard korean is releasing Vocaloid too, is it true?
Yep. Based on Vocaloid 3 engine, by a new company, SBS Artech. The voicebank is provided by Kim Dahi. (Or Tahi, I dunno the correct one ) In fact, IIMNM, the demo already posted several page before.

that mean they have new character to replace miku?
LOLWUT?
Sorry, no offence tho, but really I can't brain this. Maybe you should read more on Vocaloid in wikipedia etc. Heck, just pay a visit on the 1st page of this thread.
To answer your question, NO, they wont replace Miku of course. In fact, Hatsune Miku isn't the only Vocaloid available. We have Kagamine Rin/Len twin, Megurine Luka, Kaito, Meiko, Gumi, Gakupo, and lots more. Well you get the drill.
