U Mobile Fiber Broadband
This is by far the cheapest Fiber internet in Malaysia

Seems like they are only available in areas with TNB Allo infrastructure

Anyone already using it? I just submitted my registration for my in-laws house in Ipoh

Yeap, my wife just upgraded her mobile phone plan from GX50 to GX68 just to get the RM64.50 100Mb/s fiber internet package for her parents

This is definitely the cheapest out there

I submitted 3 registration request for Digi's RM75 for 50Mb/s fiber internet but somehow even after 3 registration submission after 2 weeks, they keep telling me that my registration was not recorded in their system even after providing WhatsApp conversation screenshots
Welp, their loss

Boss after install.can share about devices provided, ipv 6 availability, private/public ip, torrent throttling, global routing during peak hours and etc. Hope other company will counter with more competitve package. That will good for us consumers
Potential fee of early termination is RM500+RM150 technician journey. Still cheaper then rest of contract.
Got back up SIM some more if down can use. But got down maybe need contact cs to activate one of way to compete with unifi 24hours repair.

This SIM card cannot be used for making voice calls or sending SMS, and will only be allocated with a data quota when you face network disruptions to your Home Fibre Broadband service.

lwk523 Using Umobile Fiber under Allo

This what I found out during replacing stock ONU with 2.5Gb ONU SFP

1. Umobile resell Allo internet, IP segment show as Allo
2. Didn't have IPv6
3. Didn't use PPPoE, only ONU PLOAM Password
4. No ONU VLAN, IP Address get via DHCP
5. Request Public IPv4, you get Static IPv4 and netflix, disney+ block your static IP

not at least, 1Gbps package can get 1.3 ~ 1.5Gbps when using 2.5Gb ONU SFP

if resell from unifi maybe got ipv6? seems like they allow public ip because their lower user base?
edit: check their coverage ald seems like reselling allo not like digi reselling tm also. cuz my place only got tm infra. so ya it is an option to get cheaper internet from allo. From allo threas, allo also charged one time RM 100 for activating public ipv4
Allo current offer as of 18/07/22

Right,

ISP under Allo need resell Allo internet under own brand, problem with this model, any ISP that user register using Allo Fiber, will get same Internet Gateway, same Internet Exchange, same Internet Peering...
Since they don't setup PPPoE Server to authenticated, and no VLAN!

This very bad for when any ISP end up same exit node...

Advantage using Maxis/DiGi/Celcom under Unifi, different ISP get own Internet Gateway, own Internet Exchange, own Internet Peering...
TM do allow other ISP install their PPPoE equipment on TM fiber hub,
Problem with PPPoE is MTU

means if more ISP is riding on allo then their internet peering may get congested easier. as riding under allo is considered allo, but i can see the attraction to ISP side is that just need minimal setup, everything under allo. No wonder u mobile pricing is so competitive devil.gif

cheapest but hard to enjoy.

1) poor coverage of TNB Allo infra
2) need to subscribe u mobile postpaid to enjoy this cheaper price. seriously, given that one can easily get a unlimited data (capped speed at 6Mbps) and calls prepaid plan at rm40 to rm45 nowadays easily. do not see anyone should sign up such high price postpaid line.

however, it does indeed has its advantage on
1) symmetric speed (download and upload), which it is something that unifi is losing out. unifi has super pathetic upload speed.

hopefully TNB Allo will increase the coverage to more areas soon then there is really competition among the ISPs that customers can benefit from there.

seriously, i also do not really understand why bolehland fibre broadband comes with PPPoE.

lion city there is only one infra which is managed by one organisation, then all telcos including singtel, m1, starhub, myrepublic etc... all use the same infra to provide services. they do not use any PPPoE at all, as long as ur wifi router is connected to the huawei ONT, then u will get DHCP public ip for ur wifi router. Although among them, m1 has this funny behaviour, that if u change wifi router, the ONT will not work for the new wifi router immediately, which u will need to call m1 to reset something for the new wifi router to work.

despite without PPPoE, all the telcos on the same infra, they still have their own routing.

so technically PPPoE is not reason why telcos cannot have their own routing rite?

This main reasons TM, TIME still using PPPoE because they are from xDSL, instead using new customer accounting management, they just upgrade a little for save money...

problem with PPPoE, over 1Gbps speed introduce bottleneck even hardware accelerated PPPoE interface.

one person at Italy during discussion running 2.5Gb GPON ONU SFP, his router having issue to handle 2Gbps, PPPoE daemon cause single core CPU 100% load

This is the very reason TM afraid giving 1Gbps, they give us 800Mbps because they use ancient protocol

even 8 bytes overhead, at higher speed become more prevalent, TM and TIME need stop using PPPoE, follow like Allo

Yes, like TIME, they use VLAN - PVID (VLAN Untag) making VLAN Router not required,

TIME use VLAN 499 then instruct ONU to PVID at All Ethernet Port, this much better can use any router without needing VLAN to setup.
TM should do like this, since they use per LAN port, why not PVID each LAN port for each ISP
Allo should do this also, so other ISP under Allo can have their own Internet routing

lion city ISPs never use VLANs at all. even for their Voice or TV services over Internet.

Sure or not? If you use Maxis router you see their option for Allo network got VLAN ID one.

Maybe it's just Umobile reselling CityBroadband plan under different name.

Celcom, DiGi, Maxis on Allo network all use different VLAN instead?
