This main reasons TM, TIME still using PPPoE because they are from xDSL, instead using new customer accounting management, they just upgrade a little for save money...

problem with PPPoE, over 1Gbps speed introduce bottleneck even hardware accelerated PPPoE interface.

one person at Italy during discussion running 2.5Gb GPON ONU SFP, his router having issue to handle 2Gbps, PPPoE daemon cause single core CPU 100% load

This is the very reason TM afraid giving 1Gbps, they give us 800Mbps because they use ancient protocol

even 8 bytes overhead, at higher speed become more prevalent, TM and TIME need stop using PPPoE, follow like Allo
Yes, like TIME, they use VLAN - PVID (VLAN Untag) making VLAN Router not required,

TIME use VLAN 499 then instruct ONU to PVID at All Ethernet Port, this much better can use any router without needing VLAN to setup.
TM should do like this, since they use per LAN port, why not PVID each LAN port for each ISP
Allo should do this also, so other ISP under Allo can have their own Internet routing

Good one.

More modern FTTH implementation are using IPoE which is much more efficient than PPPoE. It's easier to configure service provisioning by just using the modem serial number as well.

Huawei got a pretty comprehensive provisioning system based on this technology.

Worse ISP I've ever dealt with

Went to their Sunway Pyramid center to submit registration for fiber under my wife's name for my in-laws house in Ipoh, promised installation date on 23 July, but the people who came is actually the people who wanted to confirm the registration
Then they couldn't submit my registration because of system issue and they asked me to go back to Ipoh the next week so I cancel the registration under my wife's name as they can't expect me to drive all the way from Subang to Ipoh once again just for the same thing

Went to their center again today at Ipoh Parade to submit registration under my in-laws name so it'll be easier for them to confirm registration since my FIL is there to begin with and the Ipoh Parade center confirmed the installation date to either be on 29 July or 1 - 2 August
At 4PM today they called to confirm this and they told me the 29 July is for them to come to confirm registration, not the actual installation doh.gif

I mean, WTF? I've been with Maxis Fiber, UniFi & even helped my expatriate colleague to register Time Fiber, all of them are very easy to deal with

Gave up on U Mobile Fiber because too many issues. It has been 3 weeks and they still couldn't sort out the issues with their system regarding my registration
Registered with Allo WiFi (City Broadband) yesterday and already got a confirmed installation date for 1 August 2022. A much simpler & faster process

This just proves that it's better & easier to subscribe directly with the team that actually owns the infra instead of dealing with the reseller (DiGi/UMobile or whatever lah)

Closing this topic now as I don't want to maintain it since I will not be a U Mobile Fiber user
