There are reason for odd sizes as to increase the traction and high speed/cornering stability.
Most RWD cars & performance rides does got wider size for the driving wheels
My fathers BMW e90 320d is a good sample (Original FR 225/45/R17, Rear 255/40/R17), changes 1 time same 225/45/R17 for all tires after that regretted.
Why? -> Driving dynamics really felt weird and sway a lot in the rear when picking up or enter corner fast, especially rainy days even felt more worse.
Only good is fuel consumption might be better a bit as it is lighter.
Unless you drive very slow (Which i doubt for most continental drivers) there are reason why the engineers put in the odd tire size at first.
that time 255 to 225 retain same rim or replace different offsetMost RWD cars & performance rides does got wider size for the driving wheels
