Hi everyone, i stopped playing basketball for few years and recently just started playing again, i noticed whenever i wear basketball shoe my left feet arch will feel pain after performing some jump shoot and layup, right foot dont have any issue. i've tried 3 different pair of basketball shoe the result is still the same. Is it because my feet muscle doesnt get used to sudden overuse of it? is there any cure to this issue? i do stretch/ warmup my leg and feet before playing. All 3 pairs of shoe is true to my feet size.

U running and jumping cause the pain
Actually the feet heel bear the strike force and the weights
Running and walking downslope, heel 1st
Jumping landed down, front feet landing 1st and the weight stike at heel with bending knees and hips

I used that hockey ball and massage by myself before. But it does work for a few days only. Massage by other people is different feeling especially from the season masseur. If you go jalan alor, look for male masseur from Myanmar. He is lembut kind of guy. To me he is the best for my feet.

I jog and walk every morning like 10km everyday. Your shoes must contribute something. I bought many running shoes from nike, adidas, new balance etc. But, when i wear these shoes i feel like my left foot is rolling from side to side. My feeling ended when i bought running shoes from asic(gel kayano). They have some support at the arch so i feel my feet is planted on the road.

i do suspect is the shoe, one of the shoe whenever i put on direct i will felt slight pain on my left foot arch cause it was hugging my feet so tight, the other two pair will felt less pain. will try those arch support insole or pad first see if it help. when wearing casual or running shoe my arch didnt feel any pain even if i walk in fast pace. maybe like the other forumer said, the jumping and running in basketball game causes the pain.

Maybe just too much game and no time for body to recover. As you get older, take more time

this could be the reason too, last i played basketball maybe 3 years ago? that is actually alot of gap and have to admit maybe is because of overweight too.

It probably micro tear in muscle ligament. Need not to stretch the muscle too much and give probably a week to recover.

btw my doc also suggested the towel stretch and tennis ball roll. give these a try. might help to loosen up the plantar fascia.
