Taking things with grain of salt. We're not there yet. Still in progress. But with more training + new good players = we can do it!

Don't know which one is real, and not real. Unless we know FDJ personally.

I saw an article stating that FDJ blocks the transfer because he wanted to push Barca to pay his deferred payments. But Barca is taking advantage on the MUFC situation to distract FDJ and his agent.

That makes more sense to me atm. But what a bad image for Barca.

So chaotic because press love such stories.

You're right. It's just like work, go there for a year to have "Barca" in the their cv.

Cannot wait to see Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez playing.

We have to accept it's going to be Lisandro-Maguire partnership.
And, maybe Fred-Eriksen. If FDJ still goyang kote.

Cant wait to watch Eriksen and Martinez (test for both cb and cdm?). And more of Garner.

We had triple threats few 2 years ago in Martial, Rashford and Greenwood. The midfield and defence was more stable then.

Now we have Rashford, Martial and Sancho. And a more compact defence, even with Maguire.

My main concern is how thin is our midfield with no proper CDM.

So, I can't wait to see the next game with all 3 new players to see which part we need to prioritize.

Martinez is a short fella 1.75m something, probably more suitable for as DM or 3rd CB. He's quick and tough, but aerial bombardment will drown him. Typical English #9 will fancy a chance against Martinez.

Hopefully this guy fair better than Heinze or Rojo. We always had a bad luck with Argentinians Tevez, Veron and De Maria 😢
*
Well, he did well against Haaland in CL. Let's see.

It would be interesting if Martinez plays as CDM. Maybe less pressure to the slow Maguire. Lindelof couldn't cover for him the last 2 years.

never reli a problem against bundesliga team as they dont bombard long balls all day long... but in EPL, most of the counter attacking teams like to bombard high long balls... thats the concern, but then already bought, lets see how he cover his natural weakness... his positional sense and speed at least way better than capitan...
*
The video is about Martinez (one of the shortest CB) against Haaland (one of the tallest FW). It would be interesting to see now that both are in EPL.

Well, everything has been said. We're still way behind everyone. Now need to compete with Newcastle, Salzburg pulak.

I guess it's a matter of when are we going to have our own Pep, Klopp... took many years to become what they are right now.

We've tried to move on from Fergie but everyone has failed miserably, except for maybe Jose.

Will ETH be the one? Only time will tell.

City and Liv dont just give them time.. they gave them money along with it.. and they continue to do so..

No club can do rebuild with only time alone.. need to also spend a lot on bringing in high quality players or potential players..

Leicester cannot compete at the top level anymore after failing to keep their top players and bringing in new ones..
Give all the time in the world, they wont be challenging for top honors without a set of top class players as the team core..

United are not excluded in this reality..

So the board failing to sign ETH main targets this coming season is actually further delaying the rebuilding process..

Let compare with Klopp at Liv since most people love em..
1st season: 6 signings (2 free)
2nd season: 5 signings (1 free)
3rd season: 4 signings
4th season: 4 signings
5th season: 5 signings (1 loan)
6th season: 2 signings
This season: 3 signings

Notice that they never signed less than 4 players until recently.. also they signed 11 players in his first two season..

Giving the manager the power to spend + time is the only best roadmap to success..
*
Hard to compare just like that because on paper, we bought a lot of players every season. And we paid more than any other team since Fergie left.

Yes, it's a matter of getting the right players, and the management willingness to fork out more to get those needed players, but like somebody above me mentioned, this is not FM.

I like the fact that ETH is sticking to his gun and said if he can't get FDJ, then he'll create one.

Why is it hard? United got the money..
There will be hit and miss of course..
They signed 2 goalkeepers in Klopp first season, one of them was Karius, cant get anywhere near 1st team anymore, the other guy nobody even know or care about him..
They move out that Japanese kid just after one season.. United clinging on players hoping they'll be good..

If they can back their manager with spending why United cannot?
High transfer fees? Antony price wouldnt be 100m if United move fast and early.. now that Haller, Gravenberch, Tagliafico and Martinez moved out of course Ajax will charge that high..

The important thing is back the manager with money.. u cant sign top players using time, u sign them by spending money..
*
You're right. But that's not the point, we did buy a lot of players. Maybe not as many as Liverpool.

The difference between MU and Liverpool, Liverpool had a lot of hits (good new players) compared to MU.

MU got burned for more than 1B+ buying crappy players. And now Glazers are very picky.

So yeah, ETH might be unlucky to become the latest manager with probably the lowest transfer funds ever, but you know who to blame😉 for that.

Worst thing is we cant sell the bad buys while chelsea, liverpool and city can break even or some profit selling unwanted players

Letting Pogba to leave free is the dumbest thing ever
*
True. I also forgot to add, while Liverpool stick to Klopp, we've changed managers more than we sell.

David Moyes (Ryan Giggs interim)
Louis Van Gaal
Jose Mourinho
King Ole (Carrick interim)
Ralf Rangnick (interim)
Eric ten Hag

Will ETH become our Klopp (since everyone likes him so much)?

Seriously not a bad first half. Doesn't feel like a friendly match.
