Hi all,

I am looking for the cheapest unlimited call prepaid plan for old folks (staying in PJ area), use for phone call only (local call to Ipoh, Penang, Johor...), no need internet...

So far...found the Umobile U25 prepaid plan at RM20/month, unlimited calls and seem like good deal...
https://www.u.com.my/en/personal/mobile-plans/prepaid

Any one using the Umobile U25 plan? Good? Any other plans available?

Thanks in advance!

Not unlimited per se but yoodo is rm12 for 4000 minutes per month. Thats around 66 hours, can average 2 hours per day call. Even with the latest news that skmm asked celcom to either sell yoodo or terminate it, its still good for another 2 years before the directive will be in effect.

If just for calls then maybe ok, UMobile internet coverage is not that good, so I have another line (Hotlink and XOX with data) as backup.

One thing to take note, even though you pay RM20 for this U25 plan, you need to pay RM30 monthly to keep the plan active, if you just load RM20, the last 10 days - calls will be barred.

And please load RM20 in one reload ticket, if you load RM10 two times, validity is only 10 days.....

So.... effectively U25 costs RM30 per month to have calls, but if just for internet I think RM20 like can use internet for 30 days (haven't really tried).

Checked the Umobile site: https://www.u.com.my/en/personal/mobile-pla...epaid/u-prepaid
It seem like RM20/month... no extra cost
I will double check with Umobile service centre

Thanks for the info!

Yeah right? You'd expect UMobile to ensure your calls and internet are active for the U25 plans with RM20 reload. Anyway telcos won't make your life easy when you go for the cheapest plan, telcos need to ensure ARPU are high.

P/S : Do check and tag me if you get the answer how to keep the line active for 30 days with RM20 reload and activate U25.... because I was damn surprised when my line got barred 10 days after activating U25 because I reloaded RM10 two times to get balance RM20 to activate U25. I called customer service they reiterated need to top up RM30 monthly (in one reload transaction) to ensure no call barring.

Never use umobile under RM 30. Coz you have to top-up RM 30 everuymonth, even your plan just cost RM 20. I have been use and MNP to BEone prepaid. I think BEone is the most suitable plan for old folks phone just make call and without internet.

Thanks for the info thumbup.gif

Btw, I have decided to purchase the OneXoX 28 months validity plan, with 333 minutes talktime at RM40. Will help to top-up talktime from my phone when needed.

As my old folk not good at top-up credit or extend validity every month...not good at using smartphone, just getting nokia 4G phone with buttons biggrin.gif

Thanks to everyone thumbup.gif
