I wanted to format my laptop, but I can't even boot the disc...
My laptop is a HP Pavilion series, which include an original Windows recovery disc. I did format my laptop few times before this, but no problem occurred before.
When I put in the disc to the cd rom and restart the computer and try to boot from the disc, the screen got output the prompt "Press any key to boot from disc..", so I press any key, and it come out the msg sth like wait to collect hardware info sth sth.. and then i heard the cd rom running, after a while, it quiet down, and the screen is still black!! (I'd tried with other Windows CD, the result was still the same..)
What is the problem of my laptop???
Then I did try to run the cd in OS, and chose the option "Install new Windows" to get into the setup screen. but it only allow me to repair my Windows by replace a new Windows in my laptop, without deleting all the previous Program Files!! now I having a clean Windows, but when I open my C drive, all the previous program files are still in my hdd...
and now evrytime i turn on my laptop, it'll go to the windows setup menu, I think this is bcox i load the windows setup temporary file in my laptop and the system did not deleted it until now??
However and Whatever, I know I MUST FORMAT my laptop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SO ... those who are computer expert, or u noe how to solve this problem.. pls pls help me.. I'm desperate....
(I think my main problem is can't boot from the disc?)

Lets put other problem aside, we focus on getting your lappy formatted, ok?
2 things to be checked:
A. Hard disk. 1. Perform a check disk.
B. CD-ROM. 1. Check if your CD-ROM is working fine.
