Hyundai Matrix.

NVH is surprisingly good for the class. Have very thick sound deadening and carpeting on the floorpan and I mean THICK, more than 1 inch.. Huge space under the rear seat for subwoofers (remove the cubbies and build your own custom enclosure to replace it). Big door speaker cutouts. Stock tweeter location on top of front door cards. Just add acoustic mats for the doors and trunk.

If only the greenhouse isn't that big which is impossible to damp and you have to be creative in fitting a front centre channel because the instrument cluster and switchgear in in the middle of the dash.

The Matrix was designed for the European market and it shows. It's far more refined and ride and handling is better than many will give it credit for due to the way it looks.

That NVH and build makes for a heavy car, and at 1400kg, is about as heavy as some D segments. Coupled with the small 1.6L engine and 4 speed auto, acceleration is leisurely and fuel economy isn't great.
