Fund manager and trader are 2 different roles. Dont think you can swap to fund manager role from trading role. Fund management in malaysia relies on fundamentals and uses mid- long term approach. Not technical analysis and short term trading approach like a trader. So if u wanna become a fund manager, u should become an analyst first. Your writing skills have to be good.Usually takes about 5-10 years to jump to fund manager role if you are good enough.

QUOTE(PassionateTrader @ Jun 17 2022, 09:49 AM) I see... I have tried to apply Equity Research Associate but so far no replies... guess it's really a tough process for non-finance graduants Since u trade fcpo and stocks. U can apply for UOBkayhian derivatives trader. They also day trade stocks as well. Sometimes u might be market making in which you are given a certain amount of capital to buy shares at a certain price level within a stipulated time for companies(share buybacks as an example) or for IBs. A very small % of commision from this goes to your pay.

QUOTE(PassionateTrader @ Jun 17 2022, 10:48 AM) Sounds great, I'm gonna try to look up for it. Do you know about Module 6 & 7 as well? I received an email from one of the broker firm asking me to arrange an exam schedule for Module 6 & 7 from SIDC. I've read the application form and it requires me to write who am I trading for, I believe they won't allow me to write the firm's name without passing the interview. How is the actual procedure if I have to apply it for myself? If the broker firm ask u to take mod 6 and 7 means they are already planning to hire you. No?
