My current 7 years old laptop seems to reach its limit already, became very lag when I am drawing on Illustrator. Of course, lagi worse if I am using Photoshop. Sometimes even lock itself and turned into hibernate.

I am thinking to change a new one, but wonder what requirement will be best for frequent drawing in Illustrator and using Photoshop. Also I am starting to learn Blender for 3D, so may need even higher spec?

What specs are you using?

After it went from IBM to China, its bit hit and miss with those things. My Thinkpad X1 Carbon had broken keyboard and broken battery during first few years.

I start playing with blender earlier with no gpu just i5 8700 cpu .. totally cannot use at all ..

gave up and upgrade this year with 2060 12GB and use the same i5 8700 .. 32GB ram .. yes all 8th gen budget stuff , no money cry.gif

all good with blender and using it also for AI stable diffusion ..

Drawing & Animation - using krita all not issue without gpu

3D and AI - must have good gpu with more ram 8GB or > ; rendering will need 16GB DDR to 32GB depending on object you load

My advice get a dekstop liao .. or prepare to buy gaming laptop to run the rendering and hear the fan go bbbbuuuuurrrrrrrrrr icon_idea.gif

if you using blender, i suggest you laptop with RTX gpu. you can use cuda or OptiX. blender also support nvidia AI denoiser, so you can get the preview of the render much much faster than before.

Yeah... And when you need to upgrade something, it costs fraction because you can switch parts on your desktop. Laptops usually get replaced completely.
