Is it worth sending it in for repair? I just worry the repair cost will be more than the watch.
I very seldom wear it as I already have a daily wear smart watch

I have a very old Seiko 5 automatic watch, which gains 2 minutes per day

QUOTE(rtk74 @ Jun 15 2022, 06:31 AM) It'll cost abit to send it to service. but seiko 5 aren't that accurate from the start either. RM300 for repairs? If you just eat at home for a month, enough for the repairs ady Also get rachel/christy to get an apple watch for you, or at very least a huashiat one But my watch cost only RM270. |

QUOTE(Newsray @ Jun 16 2022, 07:04 AM) see also don't dare to open/touch inside, later everything flies out and game over. Better leave all these to the watch repairers. I open the mortise lock, so big also, spring and everything pop out. This watch, if accidentally pop out all the things inside, can throw already, especially when the small little thing ends up everywhere under the chair/sofa/table/cabinet. I don't dare to mess around with watch innards. |

QUOTE(homicidal85 @ Jun 16 2022, 08:26 AM) the seiko 7s26 is a simple and cheap movement. i suggest to buy the tools to DIY rather than send to shop. you can get the tools on shopee and dont cost much. back case opener should be less than rm20. small screwdriver probably just rm2. As stated in my thread title, my Seiko is gaining 2 minutes per day, so your assumption is incorrect.but before you do any of that, you might want to just wind it up properly. most of the time, its slow simply because it doesnt have enough energy. And it is an automatic, not a manual winding watch This post has been edited by raynman: Jun 16 2022, 08:31 AM |

QUOTE(Virlution @ Jun 16 2022, 08:33 AM) If you want to keep the watch in tip top condition for sentimental reason, get it serviced, not repair as its not faulty or broken. They can adjust the speed, clean and lubricate it as well as replacing the gasket seals. I am a poorfag, where can afford Rolexes?Else just keep it as it is somewhere in the watch drawer. meanwhile at NRT, ppl talk about buying lolex watches.... ![]() Also I cannot access NRT for a few years already. |
