Just realized that dimensions and boot space of the new HRV is just comparable to Proton X50

https://www.carbase.my/car-comparison?id=Sv...56Ut,RS3KEYtRWm,

Suddenly HRV is not that attractive any more. Damn it
*
If based on figures, the new HRV boot space is comparable to x50.

But when i went to see the car in person, the boot seems much larger. Maybe its just me.

Heard SA now pushing for S entry variant, promising faster delivery and what not, just wondering due to cancellation of booking or what.

This book and cancel thing is really creating a headache for dealers to be fair
*
Yes, feedback from SA that their dealer is also busy handling cancellations and booking re-arrangements / allocations as many people placed booking for multiple cars i.e. Cross / X50 / CX3 / HRV before the SST exemption ended with the wait and see attitude.

I just came accross a video from a taiwan youtuber that dissasembles HRV and Corrolla Cross for review. Can see clearly that Taiwan's HRV doesnt have rear crash beam at all omg...  Do you think Msia's one has rear crash beam?

Link below:
https://youtu.be/ANECcxqUWDY?t=1148

Not saying HRV isnt good.. There's part2 of his video that shows how much better Honda Sensing is compared to Cross's TSS..
https://youtu.be/fSs8OGvNkZY
*
No one able to confirm unless someone dissemble their own HRV. As for the toyota cross, i think i've seen before picture of a malaysian toyota cross that someone shared without the rear crash beam, but instead, its some squarish thing.

Those wondering how the S spec looks like as its quite rare to see since there's no display unit for S spec in most showroom and also during Honda's launching event, here's some pics which i took from my showroom visit brows.gif

Let's hope our local dealers don't adopt the USA's practice of marking up prices of popular models with long waiting list. Else you're gonna see popular car models marked up by thousands or MYR for those who are not willing to wait.

I'm not sure if there are laws locally that prevent that, though.
*
Doubt they can do that in Malaysia as all prices need to be approved by the Govt

Hmm, seems I'm not the only one being offered a ready stock sst car

Was wondering how is it possible that they have 20k booking but have ready stock if u pay sst?
*
Still figuring that out too. Apparently based on rumours, Honda have 2 production lines. 1 with SST, 1 without SST. Those willing to pay SST probably can get their cars between 1-3 months i guess or even ready stock,

Perhaps it is a directive from out government...No. I am kidding.

Most likely is to get SST exemption, the rules are not so clear, to declare a lot of red tapes, and governments officials from Custom give them a lot of troubles bacause "god damn too many people " buying cars pre SST and I only want to do my 9 to 5 and go home , so I don't care", etc. etc.

So SA will try to convince you to give up your pre booked unit and take post SST stocks because their life is simpler, you will get your car fast, it is an option. And some may just do it.

I wonder if UMW or Perodua or Proton will do the same to those booked pre SST? I am really wondering
*
So far this scenario is only seen in Honda. Proton made it clear once they reach booking numbers which they are unable to fulfill before end of March 2023, they will close the booking.

Bank just came in and approved loan, but at a ridiculous interest rate due to OPR increase - similar to car loan interest rate in 2015 - Maybank and Affin both offered & approved the same interest rate.

So we will proceed and pay the necessary downpayment and should receive the car by next week if everythings goes well.
*
Congrats man! Please do give some review on the driving experience once u got your car biggrin.gif

I wana giv up already seeing so many ready stock but for sst only. Gona cancel it next week.
*
Wouldnt recommend doing that as you are giving up your SST savings. No harm just leaving the booking there and decide later whether to proceed when the car arrives.

If our car arrives can still cancel the booking?
*
Arrive means they are gonna allocate chasis number to you and u are required to pay the downpayment. So if you decide not to proceed then request to cancel and not pay the downpayment tongue.gif

What variant you book? If you book RS, may need to wait as I saw all the cars collected are not RS.
*
Yes from what i heard, RS spec delivery will be later than the turbo variants as Honda is focusing on the turbo variants since it accounts the bulk of the orders placed.

QUOTE(isr25 @ Jul 27 2022, 04:21 PM)
Too simplistic. Better illustrate like below:

A placed booking with SA1 before SST deadline (booking #1)
B placed booking with SA2 before SST deadline (booking #100)
C placed booking with SA1 before SST deadline (booking #101)
D placed booking with SA1 after SST deadline (booking #500)

Assumption: A,B,C,D booked same model, variant, colour. No other

Let's say car for A arrived, but A's loan was not approved. The Sales Manager gave SA1 a deadline of 1 week to to get A's loan to be approved or his client's allocation will go to SA2. SA1 can either offer to C or D. If they reject coz dun want car now, SA1 will advertise outside and SA1 will be desperate coz only have 1 week deadline to register before he lose his commission.
*
Great explanation there. now it makes more sense as to why we see SAs advertising ready stock on Facebook despite the long HRV queue
