Umbile coverage tak bagus.
walaupun 5G, pasti tak bagus juga

If DNB tak bagus, all 5G coverage also tak bagus. Because all Telcos are on the same DNB backbone.

But lousiest still Maxis because no 5G yet. So called premium telco... my foot.

i don't mind if maxis never signed up at all. 4G is more than enough right now, if not for the coverage.

and i don't want to rely on 5G under DNB's SWN model; it's a single point of failure even if switching operator.

Other than using 5G for faster speed which won't affect me if using 4G.

It waste my data & battery faster, am I right?

I felt that my battery life is better compare with 16.1.2. Normally my battery life will drain faster when I playing NBA 2K and turn on Always on Display (turn off Wallpaper), now is much better. However, I always charge my phone to around 80+% when possible. I owned several wireless chargers which allowed me to charge my phone either in my workplace or room.

i hve the same issue on ip14p on hotlink. 4G but no data, have to flip to airplane mode and back. Data instantly appears.

Maxis is the only Telco that didn't sign with DNB. Not sure how long it would take for them to implement their own 5G infrastructure.

Why would it waste more data? Lets say you watch a video worth 100mb on 4G, it would still be 100mb on 5G.

sometimes I browse/ video...if faster speed means load faster. If I didn't plan to watch half way, the other half which done loading will be wasted xD

Well, I can't finish anyway...but it seems like consume more on 5g as for now. So far play moba game latency better, but I must stay at a place. If move from point A to B within the same building, the 5G radar seems not perfect yet. Will keep changing from 5g <> 4g vice versa....

Well then that would be your own type of usage then. I can say 5G coverage is quite good around town areas. But of course you can't compare it to 4G which has taken so many years for Telcos to implement the structures.

ya, I work in BB triangle area. So far ok, just that some places like I said same building but will change from 5g->4g and when I move back 4g->5g....Hopefully this can be improve in future.

Checked and only knew that 5g wavelength is shorter compare with 4g, will monitor for a week and see how's the battery consumption compare with 4g.

Nice. Yeah I did notice the phone keep switching back and forth between 4G and 5G at areas where there is weaker 5G coverage. You can actually set the phone to lock on longer to 5G by changing your Voice and Data to 5G on.

Battery life seems to be similar to that on 4G for me though.

Maxis is not implementing its own 5G lah.
No licence granted by government to do so.

There were 2 agreements; shareholding agreement and access agreement.
Maxis refused the shareholding agreement, but will hold AGM to approve access agreement, pending January 2023.

While shortchanging their customers?

They actually have their own 5G infrastructure up and running already. That is why Putrajaya and nearby Kajang users are getting 5G. It was actually part of their early phase of 5G testing.
