Hi everyone,

I need some help here.

My mother is still using the ancient Talk & Surf mobile plan as of today and I want to help her to get the Hotlink Postpaid 30/40

However, when I talk to the kiosk merchant at mall, it seems that I will have to port out from Maxis to 3rd party then "port back" to Hotlink for the plan conversion to work ...

Is this true? I'm trying to find a more efficient way (but I was stuck at online porting request since I can't choose Maxis as current telco service provider in later step) ...

If your current number from maxis they're not allowed to transfer to hotlink via call center , unless you go to HQ ding dong here and there which to me too much hassle and never bother to try

My options change to other Telco keep the number few days later visit maxis outlet change to hotlink

Yes, i asked that on behalf of my wife.

They said you need to port out from Maxis first, then only you register for Hotlink..

they not gonna do the auto port into Hotlink although they are under same company.

Just now I call the service center and the lady told me need to change to hotlink prepaid then wait for 1 month for cooling period ..before change to hotlink postpaid again ...

so troublesome as I would need to bring my mother around for thumbprint / verification, etc ...

not sure if it's worth the hassles lol ...

That time i port to Celcom prepaid version of postpaid
Week later visit maxis outlet they allow me to change straight away hotlink postpaid

Just during change Celcom sms you reply 1 or 2 thing to confirm port out

So your Celcom prepaid version of postpaid fully settlement before next billing cycle should be no issue to change

Just bring her to nearby carrefour usually there are digi Celcom and maxis on the same building

Yeah is so much hassle but depends on you if time not a issue to you

I changed because monthly i only use 1gb data and my wife supp line 30gb also using less than 3gb ... So no point to me waste extra money i no longer needed

i just did changes on my plan 2 weeks back.
i convert from maxis to prepaid through phone.
after that, just switch to postpaid.

however, since the # is register under your mother name, you would hv to get a gal to help.
"just pretend to be your mother" and when they asking verification, just provide them the data.
after that you will be able to convert to hotlink prepaid without need to change the sim card.
then subscribe to RM35 plan for 1 month, then convert to postpaid.
not sure if converting from prepaid to post can done through phone call or online. But, i think it is possible to done through phone call if owner remain same since they already hv your mum data.
