definitely would not suggest work in SG if you cannot handle stress. With your accounting degree i would suggest to just work as finance/account exec in commercial companies in Malaysia. The work is not that stressful and you can earn within your expected salary. Don't ever go to audit especially in Big 4. I would def not advice u to become forklift operator, since you already spend lots of money and time to study accounting it will be a waste.

btw i'm an accountant currently working in a renowned f&b company in malaysia, spent my fair share of time in audit

Working in SG is WLB if u get into right company.
Leave on time or so (end at 6, usually early 6 ciao, by 7pm office empty aka deserted)

But during work hours.. is hell as in you don't even have time to go toilet break, learn to bring the laptop into washroom

However at the end of the month.. if you question why do I wanna put up with this.. the paycheque is good reason enough

Fresh grad with degree in Accounting easily could land you an entry level role in commercial firms as finance executive at probably RM 3,000 depending on location if u are able to proof your book knowledge and internship experience.

Put ur degree to the best use rather than being a forklift operation imho.

Just do grab lo. Own time own target no stress money ok.

Yes i do know stress is normal but ever since the covid-19 post-era, thing changed rapidly and so does human personality and mental, plus with my attention need to focus on parent, i have little choice but to go a job where i can really work and life balance. I am not planning to get marry but aim to have modesty life where i spend time on game, paying bill , take care parent and investment.

I think you may opt for account assistant/exe post, that will give you around rm3k now, and if you're lucky then you won't have to OT. It's definitely better than being forklift operator, or alternatively like many said just be Grab driver.

But coming out from audit, u get promoted faster tho when you join commercial right? Was stuck in my ACCA past few years.

It might make sense to identify clearly what causes your stress. For me it's micro management and colleagues or managers with a sense of entitlement.

Also might make sense to identify what pressures you can handle without getting stressed. I can handle time pressure very well without getting bothered.

yup coming out from audit u will be promoted faster. I got promoted in 1 and half year. But it also depends on a lot of other factors like vacancies.

As a fresh graduate with CGPA lower than 3. I only manage to work in DHL as Data Management (basically data entry). Not bad but the job easy but repetitive, with low career progressive. If you want a simple job for 2.5k, then you may try apply here

For accounting/ finance role, these should be least stress:
1) Internal audit; no external deadline and all internal.
2) internal tax; busy only for 1 date and normally chill for the rest
3) reporting for sme or non plc: busy mostly for 1 date
4) reporting with shared service center: lots of resources and clear demarcation. Stress mostly on volume only
5) reporting for large MNC or plc. Busy 4 times a year with quarter reporting + consol. Unless work at specific dept like payable, receivable or fixed asset
6) consulting line like audit, tax or advisory. Your boss will constantly squeeze you to earn every single cents. Not recommended if you hate stress.

Better ask carefully on the moderation type.
They are hiring alot of Facebook video moderator.
But it's really torture because ticktock maybe not main stream yet but on Facebook you get people uploaded decapitated videos, dead bodies and alot of violent videos that need moderation.
I would avoid these even if you can stomach it..

Any job can bring your stress, if you don't know how to deal with it. If you already have a little saving, you can try to start your own business.

Hi, any major difference between audit firms and commercial in terms of pay, stress level & work life balance once u joined commercial?

Stress level and workload is definitely higher in audit, at least for medium firm and big 4 audit. The pay is more or less the same in both audit and commercial. But in commercial you generally work lesser hours , so you'll earn higher pay per hour as compared to audit. Work life balance obviously is better in commercial, very little to no travelling required and your tasks is more routine and predictable.

How is your mandarin and English?. There are translations, editing and subtitle jobs available online. It gives you a lot more flexibility and you can still be there for your parents since it WFH. Know of part timers earning 2-5 k just dedicating a few hours per week doing it. But you need to pass their tests first. Legit jobs.

Grab now also a lot of stress what. Outside of KL = less Grab income
Within KL = high competition and the car maintenance isn't worth it

70%+ of the time I always see Grab drivers being gangsters with gangster attitudes
