Anyways, onto what's goin' on.

Well, my OCZ Platinum 3200 1GB (2x512mb) El Rev.2 (man, that's a mouthful) kit died. Well, specifically one of the modules in the kit died so I had to RMA the whole kid.

So, my experience with OCZ Support was 'ok' at best to begin with... but it did get better. This is what happened:

I sent in my RMA of my Platinum 1GB kit and I had to pay for the shipping as per usual for these deals. I don't hear back for about a week and a half, so I call in and talk to the dude on my case.

He says, "Sorry, we don't carry your ram anymore and since it's the top of the line we don't have anything higher. So how do you feel about having the Gold 3200 El GX XTC 1GB kit with a 1GB flash drive for your trouble?"

I was like, sure why not?

So, they send me back the 1GB kit, which I was a bit disappointed in not having the same quality ram as before, but hey at least I got a 1gb flash drive. So, I go to stick it in my computer and guess what? IT DOESN'T FIT!!!! hahaha

They sent me mislabeled DDR2 ram! So, I called them back and let them know. I don't hear back from the guy for a few days so I call again. This time I get a Service Rep Supervisor. THIS DUDE GOT ON IT!

He paid for my shipping, cross shipped, and then gave me 2GB GX XTC GOLD 3200 DDR Ram.... AND I got to keep the 1GB flash drive!!!!!!!

Sooooooooooooooo....

Now I have 3GB of GOLD OCZ Ram and it's awesome! All my games run soooo smooth. And I have to say... I didn't think 3GB would make much of a difference than 2... but it really does. I run Oblivion and it helps sooo much. BF2 runs great and so do a bunch of other games, plus my system is just running a whole lot more smooth.

Sure, it could be because I had some shizzy ram in there, but I gotta say that before all the errors, Oblivion just runs way better with the extra ram. I have full settings maxed out on 1024x768 with my 7900gtx, and AMD 4000san diego.

Anyone else have any experience with high amounts of ram and gaming?

Sorry for writing so much, I just figured I'd tell the whole story. tongue.gif
