Hi I am currently driving MYVI Ezi 2009 which I feels is a solid performed car which doesn't really give much problem to me. But it's already pretty old that's why decided to change car. So I plan to get 2nd hand myvi 2018 H or AV or 2019 H. However, I have been doing research around and found out alot of issue with Fuel pump, car battery fast die out within less then a year for 2018 & 2019 myvi. But now 2022 is already considered 3 & 4 years old car. So to all 2018 & 2019 myvi or sifu can give advice if I should get the 2nd hand car? My main concerns is the fuel pump issues made in Indo now already resolved? Since is 3 & 4 years old car. Or perhaps get new 2022 myvi fuel pump is made in Japan? Last question is if I buy a 2018 or 2019 myvi will fuel pump issue be still as problematic as is 2019?

Fuel pump issue only occurs in Myvi 2018 model if you consistently refuel only once the fuel meter level is 2bar and below. I was told by Perodua salesman that the issue has been solved in Myvi 2022 Facelift (FL) model. To me, I would go with the new myvi, than to get a used myvi.

1) nothing to do with what year the myvi is made in. Battery fast kong is because of frequent usage of eco-idle start-stop. Turn it off every single time and never use it, and your car battery lasts just as long as any other car.
2) Myvi made before 2020 (not sure about after 2020) would most probably have recall program for the fuel pump. Go ahead and check at official SC to see if the fuel pump is ever replaced. They will have the record in the system. If not replaced, ask and see if still could be replaced under warranty..
and while you are at it, go ahead and request for all the service and maintenance records. Then check whether oil changed on time, and any major parts changes/issues.
2018/19 myvi would all still be under warranty. Go ahead check on warranty status too, whether still active or voided for whatever reason. e.g the car been serviced outside of SC before so warranty voided even if still under warranty period.
Personally, I wouldn't buy a car that has little to no service and maintenance records with official SC. I.e. the previous owner service outside of SC. Unless the previous owner can show prove like receipts of all his past services..

Nothing wrong to get used if the price is reasonable. Just make sure to check the car is in good condition. And make sure the warranty is still valid from SC. Some users don't service in SC so the warranty is expired.
As for the fuel pump, it should be either in recall. If not, it's no big deal as the fuel pump doesn't cost much and is not hard to replace.
Good luck.
