Like others said, there is no fake CPU.

Those CPUs in gift box package are meant for end customer direct purchase. System builders like Dell, HP, Lenovo or any small ones purchase CPU in bulk. It is cheaper for them. Those CPU are still under warranty but it through the system builder. You cannot go direct to Intel or AMD.

So, you should ask if anything wrong with the CPU, can you get warranty from the seller or not. This is to avoid black market CPUs.
